Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is an action-adventure game with RPG elements, set in the World of Darkness. 5 Choose Your Form Carefully
Caharl has three forms he can shift between during gameplay to take advantage of their unique benefits. In Homid (Human) form, Caharl mayoperate machinery, perform stealth takedowns when in melee range, and make use of his crossbow to neutralize foes from a distance. In Lupus (Wolf) form Caharl is harder to see, may navigate through vents, leap higher and further, and move more quickly than in his other forms. Players should try to remain in Lupus form as much as possible when sneaking around enemy patrols, reserving Homid form for when Caharl's progress is blocked by a door or mechanism that requires the human touch, or for when an enemy is isolated in a good spot for a silent takedown with the crossbow. After getting the Electrical Bolts skill from the Tactical - Crossbow skills, it becomes possible to eliminate security cameras with a well-aimed shot, making shifting between forms to deal with obstacles ever more important.
The third form is a very different beast, in every sense of the word, and so it becomes time to make an important choice.
4 Choose When To Rage
The Crinos (Wolf-Man) form is the werewolf most players will think of when seeing the game's title and serves as a physical powerhouse capable of incredible feats of strength and brutality. Using this form means abandoning the silent approach, at least for the current room, so savvy players may wish to use Caharl's other two forms first to disable entry points for reinforcements, leaving him free to unleash Crinos on the trapped patrol without the risk of attracting more foes.
In Crinos form, Caharl can perform vicious melee combo attacks, chaining together light and heavy attacks and even juggling foes in the air. Crinos is best used when players wish to reduce everything in the current area to a bloody pulp. Players should pay attention to their enemies while in Crinos, and prioritize any foe who wields silver (Indicated by a bright white glow on their weapons while in Penumbra Vision) to avoid taking serious damage or becoming staggered.
3 Seek Out Spirits
Scattered throughout the game world are numerous spirits that can be collected in order to gain skill points, allowing players to improve Caharl's abilities by unlocking various upgrades from the skill trees. While spirits can be hard to locate, there are a number of tricks that make them easier to track. It is possible to use Caharl's Penumbra Vision to track collectibles such as spirits over long distances while in Lupus form after acquiring Spiritual Link from the Tactical - Wolf Form skills, as they will appear as faint expanding rings that grow larger and clearer when Caharl gets closer to them.
2 Explore the Hub
Between visiting the locations for each story mission, Caharl will return to a large hub area which consists of his Pack's headquarters, and its immediate surroundings. As players progress in the story, new sections of this hub will become accessible, and occasionally side-objectives can be found and completed by speaking to various characters. 1 Good Perks To Unlock Early
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood has a great many perks to unlock, but some are far more useful than others. Spirit of the Fray and Regenerative Metabolism from the Combat - General skills are very handy for improving Caharl's survivability in combat, with Spirit of the Fray allowing him to perform a dash to dodge in midair, while Regenerative Metabolism lets him top up his HP with extra healing by attacking enemies immediately after using a heal. Picking Up Wild Strength from Combat - General is also useful if players want to be able to soak up some extra hits in a fight.
Players having difficulty with enemies wielding silver may find it useful to pick up the Silver Purge skill from Combat - General, as it allows Caharl to heal the normally un-healable damage dealt by Silver weapons, though ideally, it is better to avoid Silver attacks in the first place. A good way of targeting and eliminating them quickly is by using the Heavy Leap skill from Combat - Agile to launch Caharl directly toward priority targets, knocking them to the ground and dealing damage in the process.
As mentioned earlier, Electrical Bolts from Tactical - Crossbow is very useful for eliminating security cameras while navigating the world. Marksmanship I can be useful in emergencies, slowing down time when detected, and potentially allowing players to salvage a stealth run by quickly targeting and eliminating the enemy that spotted them. Picking up Camouflage from Tactical - Wolf Form is an excellent investment, as it makes Caharl much harder to detect while in Lupus form.
