CW's Batwoman series has given fans their first look at Luke Fox (played by Camrus Johnson) in full costume as DC Comics character Batwing for season 2. Luke Fox is the son of Lucius Fox, who many are familiar with through the Batman canon and as a very prominent character in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

In the comics, Luke Fox takes on the mantle of Batwing but only after the original David Zavimbe. The CW is known for taking its own creative direction in terms of storytelling and it usually draws inspiration from the comic books' canon story rather than following it accurately, which is why the DC shows remain successful. Striking the line of remaining true to the source material while also bringing in something fresh is the hard part of writing for these characters that many grew up on and look up to.

Following the replacement of the first Batwoman, Katherine 'Kate' Kane (Ruby Rose), fans saw Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) take over the mantle for the second season. Now with Luke Fox picking up the cowl, we get to see another hero join her crusade. There were behind-the-scenes leaks a while back, but this serves as fans' first look at Batwing in HD. Fox's suit is a highly advanced armored outfit with both gadgets and weapons. Batwing is known for having rocket-propelled gliders on his back that gives him the ability to fly (which is also how he got his name) and since the suit doesn't appear to have a cape, one can assume that we'll see Fox take flight in order to traverse around the city.

Based on these Batwoman images, the costume designer Maya Mani (who also worked on the other DC shows for The CW) has outdone her work once again. At first glance, fans may notice some similarities between the Batwing costume and the suit of the fan-favorite Nightwing. Both have solid black outfits with a small blue insignia in the middle of the chest region. Both also don't wear capes and they appear to have lighter costumes in order to give them maximum movement capabilities.

While many are excited about this new character, others are anticipating even more from the series. Fans have yet to see an official "Bat Family" live-action team-up. This means Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, Batwing, and Batwoman all fighting side by side. Titans has a number of these characters but there's no telling whether if we'll see it on the small screen or big screen first.

Batwoman airs on Sundays at 9/8c on The CW.
