Battlefield 6 fans have gotten most of their information on the game from leaks, and that will seemingly continue to happen up until the game’s reveal. As always, Tom Henderson is front and center, with the Battlefield 6 insider recently doubling down on several rumors.
Henderson has not only proven to be credible in the past, but the leaker has been the go-to source for Battlefield 6 info for some time now. From the rumors about Battlefield 6’s robot dog gadget to the return of the scrapped crash landings feature from Battlefield 5, Henderson has been providing fans with numerous details over the several months. In a recent tweet, the insider compiled the leaks that he is confident are true, and he even added another exciting rumor to the mix.
Henderson’s tweet doubles down on the idea that Battlefield 6 will have a near future setting. In the past, he compared this to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, suggesting that the game will only be set a decade or so into the future. While this would make things like the robot dog possible, Battlefield: 2142’s mechs are still far off. Intriguingly, Henderson adds that the game will take place after Battlefield 4, confirming that it is not a full reboot of the franchise like some once thought. It is unclear how connected the two will be, though fans can expect some references.
Henderson also states that it covers “the next world war,” confirming that the World War 3 leaks were accurate. As this World War plays out, gamers will enjoy 128-player fights as an “elite unit” hired by Russia or America. This way, militaries from the entire world can be involved in this conflict, adding diversity to the lineup of playable soldiers. Henderson adds that classes will get unique perks and abilities, giving them similar functionality to past Battlefield games. In a follow-up tweet, Henderson shares a new bit of info with Battlefield 6 fans.
Apparently, the game will be getting an Alpha, with Henderson expecting it to drop in July. He believes there is a chance it could go live right after EA Play as well, suggesting that fans will be playing the game sooner rather than later. Alongside this, there is no mention of a Battlefield 6 campaign once again, indicating that Henderson has not yet heard about its existence. While there is a small chance that a story mode does exist, it seems unlikely that Henderson would not have heard about it. As such, fans should not be expecting a single-player mode for the next Battlefield game unless DICE or EA says otherwise.
With June only a few days away, Battlefield 6’s grand reveal is right around the corner. When the first trailer comes, fans will finally be able to see which of these rumors is accurate.
Battlefield 6 is expected to release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
