Season 7 of Battlefield 2042 will have to contend with the level of content introduced by Season 6, otherwise known as Dark Creations. This season is set to end on January 30, meaning there is still plenty of time for more details of Season 7 to come to light. To give an idea of what Season 7 needs to match and ideally exceed, Season 6 introduced the following content:

  • New Battle Pass, cosmetics, and Weekly Missions
  • New Redacted map
  • New weapons: VHX-D3, L9CZ, and G428
  • New gadgets: Medical Pouch, Ammo Pouch
  • New vehicle: YUV-2 Pondhawk

The Redacted map of Battlefield 2042's Season 6 was a highlight of the event, allowing for more close-quarters combat that the title was previously struggling to foster. This is clearly something that has been taken into account for Season 7, with it being confirmed that Season 7 will feature two brand-new maps for players to enjoy.

Battlefield 2042's Season 7 Will Build on the Success of Season 6

Two maps within a single season is a huge statement of intent by DICE, with this alone providing some of the largest-scale content that a 2042 season has seen. Of course, Season 7 will also include its own Battle Pass and overarching themes, with other aspects like Weekly Missions being expected to return as a growing standard of 2042's seasonal experiences.

Whatever core theme that Season 7 of Battlefield 2042 ends up employing should also come with a range of new cosmetics, and fans should also expect a wide range of customization options with Season 7 as a result. It is also expected that 2042's Season 7 will introduce a lot of vault weapons from Battlefield's Portal mode, with there also being a likelihood of brand-new weapons being brought into the fold.

If Season 6 is anything to go off of, then fans should also expect new gadgets and vehicles to make an appearance when Season 7 launches. Battlefield 2042 recently reached its all-time player count thanks to the positive additions of its recent seasons and free-to-play weekends, and fans should expect a significant amount of content in Season 7 to carry forward this success into the new year.
