Electronic Arts and EA DICE have released a new trailer for Battlefield 2042 Season 04: Eleventh Hour. While Battlefield 2042 has had its issues, EA DICE has remained true to its promise to continue delivering post-launch content for the online multiplayer shooter. Season 4 is the latest example of that continued promise, with Battlefield 2042's next season scheduled to begin on February 28.

Battlefield 2024 has remained consistent since it started rolling out seasonal content with Season 1 in June 2022. Season 2 followed in late August, with Battlefield 2042 Season 3 arriving in late November. Now Season 4 will arrive in late February, maintaining EA DICE's productive three-month schedule for rotating seasons. The only issue is that it took EA DICE from Battlefield 2042's launch in November 2021 until June 2022 to get that first season out. As such, there's still some distrust among the Battlefield 2042 fanbase.

In the new trailer for Season 4: Eleventh Hour, EA DICE showcases a cinematic look at what it hopes players' experience will be in the upcoming Battlefield 2042 update. The first half of the trailer features a violent encounter between military forces that at first may not make much sense. The second half of the trailer makes clear that what was shown earlier is all new content from Battlefield 2042 Season 04: Eleventh Hour.

Key new additions in Season 4 include a new map, specialist, weapons, vehicle, and battle pass. The new map is named Flashpoint and is based in South Africa, with a design built around short-range combat. Battlefield 2042's new specialist is named Blasco, described as an "ambush expert" with recon training allowing her to move without alerting motion detectors. New weapons include the Super 500 Shotgun Sidearm, RM68 Assault Rifle, AC9 SMG, and the RPT-31 LMG. Lastly, the CAV-Brawler is a mobile team spawning vehicle that could change gameplay dramatically.

EA DICE has also revealed its plans for Season 4's battle pass for Battlefield 2042. There will be both a premium and free track for the battle pass. The free pass includes 30 different rewards, while the premium version has an extra 70. Upgrading will immediately unlock four exclusive rewards, including the Legendary "Undeniable" Boris Specialist Set and the Legendary "Red Eye" Weapon Skin.

Altogether, Season 4 of Battlefield 2042 isn't going to reinvent the wheel. Players who have already decided to move on past Battlefield 2042 likely won't find anything in the new season to bring them back. But for Battlefield 2042 fans wanting new content to refresh the experience, this may be what they're looking for.

Battlefield 2042 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
