Several weeks post-launch, Battlefield 2042 still hosts plenty of technical issues and bugs. While the game has its fair share of frustrating, game-breaking glitches that can potentially ruin the experience for players, the newest Battlefield also has some bugs that are more hilarious and baffling than anything else, such as a recent glitch that highlights a lone helicopter instead of actual players at the end of a match.

Posted to the sub-Reddit r/Battlefield2042, Reddit user u/Jimmy_Webs shared a clip from one of his recent Battlefield 2042 Twitch streams where the game displays a helicopter exploding instead of the usual "best team" of the game. It all happens very suddenly as the camera tracks the chopper as it comes crashing to the ground where it finds its final resting place in a fiery wreck.

In the comments, some Reddit users speculated that the helicopter was flying over the area where the team was going to load for the end-game screen, but, following the conclusion of the match, everyone inside of it despawned, causing it to drop out of the sky. This isn't a new phenomenon for the Battlefield series as several older games in the franchise had end-game screens featuring falling vehicles, but the exact framing of the helicopter in the clip seems like a one-in-a-million moment.

Unfortunately, not all bugs in Battlefield 2042 are as amusing as a helicopter winning "best squad" during a match. Many players have cited game-breaking glitches and crashes that have sullied the experience and quickly pushed a large portion of its audience away in search of other recently released shooters such as Call of Duty: Vanguard and Halo Infinite.

It's been recently noticed that Battlefield 2042's player count has begun dropping only a few weeks after its launch. Although they aren't necessarily correlated, recent reports have noted that Farming Simulator 22 has a higher concurrent player count than Battlefield 2042 which highlights two things: that farming simulators remain to be one of gaming enthusiasts' most relaxing past times and that this year's Battlefield is falling off pretty quickly.

DICE and EA have been relatively vocal about wanting to fix the game in upcoming patches, however, many fans feel like the fixes will be too little, too late. The companies don't exactly have perfect track records when it comes to quickly fixing issues in games, however, it's still to be seen what problems the December patch for Battlefield 2042 will address, so it's certainly possible that it could be saved.

Battlefield 2042 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
