A new Battlefield 2042 gameplay clip demonstrates the chaos of the battlefield, from watching a tank explode to nearly getting run over by a teammate, capped off by an immaculate toss that leaves a player trapped behind a closed door with a fully cooked grenade. The end result, as could be expected, is glorious Battlefield 2042 action the likes of which the franchise has been delivering for 20 years.

The latest entry in the long-running franchise, developed by DICE and published by EA, Battlefield 2042 has had a rocky first year. From rampant bugs to dramatic gameplay changes, 2042 was immediately disliked by fans of the series, many of whom started playing the five-year-old Battlefield 1 over more recent titles. Thanks to well-received seasonal content, some of which reverted the controversial change to the classic class system, DICE's latest game is finally getting praise and players.

One of those players shared the amazing clip of a grenade kill that will likely never be replicated. Reddit user NotAshamedGaming somehow timed a grenade so that it went through a door just as an opposing soldier was closing it, inadvertently creating a death trap. Amazing Battlefield kills usually rely on physics not following the same laws online as it does in reality, which makes this clip, and the perfectly functioning door, an amusing outlier.

NotAshamedGaming admitted in the comments that they were aiming for the door and had no idea what was about to happen. Accidental kills in online matches, such as a remote mine assist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, are par for the course, usually as amusing for the victim as they are for the killer. The rest of NoAshamedGaming's clip that frames the spectacular grenade kill, from a tank turret getting blasted into the air to their own allied tank nearly running them over, serves to illustrate the pure chaos Battlefield 2042 can offer.

With over 800 upvotes on Reddit, other players enjoy seeing the immaculate grenade kill, though a small group has become fascinated with how the tank blows up at the beginning of the clip. Season 3 was recently released for the game, and DICE shared details on Battlefield 2042 Seasons 4 and 5 earlier this week. Curious players can check out the game 2042 during free access periods this month, running form now until December 5 on Xbox and Steam, and December 16 through the 23rd on PlayStation.

Battlefield 2042 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
