Submachine guns and personal defense weapons are some of the best weapons in BattleBit Remastered: these weapon classes are available to almost every class in the game, and they are some of the strongest firearms in the street-to-street, building-to-building gameplay of maps like Frugis and Tensatown.
Some of the strongest and most iconic weapons emerging from BattleBit Remastered are SMGs and PDWs, as casual gamers and hardcore streamers alike find what guns they're the most comfortable using. These are the best SMGs & PDWs for any player's loadout.
9 PP2000
The PP2000 is a largely disappointing SMG when compared to its peers. On paper, this thing looks like it can do a lot of damage: it has an incredibly quick fire rate and decent damage per round. It's also an extremely stable weapon; some of the close-range primaries in this game suffer from high recoil, but the PP2000 isn't one of them.
The weapon's massive downfall is how difficult it is to get the ball rolling with this thing. The PP2000 is one of the weapons in BattleBit Remastered that really requires attachments to get value out of, and since players need to get kills to earn attachments, it becomes a pain to earn the attachments in the first place. It's much easier for players to stick to other SMGs and PDWs unless they have the patience and time to engage with this firearm.
8 Honey Badger
The first personal defense weapon players get a chance to use in BattleBit Remastered, the Honey Badger is an alright choice for new players to get used to the PDW class of weapons. Like many personal defense weapons, the Honey Badger feels like a hybrid between an SMG and an assault rifle. Unlike the other weapons in the PDW class, the Honey Badger doesn't feel especially satisfying to use.
This weapon performs well across distance, and its recoil is controllable, but it simply doesn't have enough ammo to warrant continued usage. By the time a single enemy is dropped, players will need to reload their magazines, lest they run the risk of dying in a second encounter. This is one PDW that players can easily skip.
7 PP19
The PP19 is a very similar weapon to the PP2000, but it's much more forgiving with its iron sights and starting stats. This ease of access lets players pick up this weapon and dominate the field much faster than its counterpart, meaning this weapon will feel more powerful without having to rack up kills in tough fights.
The biggest issue with this SMG is that it simply doesn't stand out against its peers: SMGs are one of the most populated weapon classes in the game, and if players are going to be picking a submachine gun for their class, the PP19 doesn't offer anything that other weapons can't do better.
6 P90
The P90 has it all: good damage, solid fire rate, decent iron sights, and controllable recoil. This PDW is one of the better weapons in the game, and players are sure to always be ready for a firefight since every magazine packs a generous 50 rounds.
In addition to all of these great features, the P90 also does great damage to lightly armored opponents, meaning that this personal defense weapon will shred through enemy infantry like they're made of paper mache. This is one of the most aggressive weapons in the game; one that every player should master for their loadouts.
5 UMP-45
The first SMG that players will get their hands on, the UMP45, is a solid pick that is usable even as players progress into the leveling tree and unlock other options. Many players will find themselves using the UMP-45 well into their BattleBit Remastered experience simply because of the weapon's consistent performance.
The UMP-45 has a high magazine capacity, great stability, and low recoil. It is extremely accurate in its semi-automatic firing mode and can be used to tap fire enemies across hundreds of meters. Damage falloff is an issue for most of these close-quarters weapons, but the UMP-45 has no issues in gunfights with enemies at every distance.
4 MP5
The MP5 is one of the most stable SMGs in the game, allowing players with horrible recoil control a strong late-game option for racking up kills. This weapon is a laser at any distance, and players will find themselves able to fight on even ground with assault rifles at longer ranges.
The biggest issue with this SMG is the bullet velocity. Even though the MP5 doesn't kick too hard, recoil isn't the only issue for fighting across distance. The bullet travel time for the MP5 is rougher than many other weapons in its class, so players have to get decent at leading their shots, or they'll suffer the consequences of picking bad fights.
3 Groza
The best-in-class personal defense weapon is the Groza. This weapon is the prime example of what a PDW should be, embodying the best traits of SMGs and assault rifles. It doesn't shoot as fast as the P90, but it has a steady rate of fire that ensures a competitive "time to kill."
Additionally, the Groza kills enemies with three rounds, does even more light armor damage than the P90 does, and is incredibly stable for long-distance gunfights. The only downside to using this weapon is a 30-round magazine, which shouldn't be an issue for players choosing to use this weapon for mid-range firefights.
2 MP7
One of the hardest-hitting SMGs in the game, the MP7 has an incredibly quick "time to kill," with respectable damage and a very high rate of fire. Ammo-efficient players will be able to down squads of enemy players with only a single magazine, meaning encounters started with the MP7 in hand have a decent rate of success.
The biggest downside to the MP7 is the unforgiving reload time; players can perform tactical reloads to circumvent getting caught with their pants down, but the ammo economy for this SMG is just tough to manage. It's common that a tough situation will lead players to abandon a dropped magazine, and that holds the MP7 back from performing as well as its best-in-class peer.
1 Kriss Vector
The Kriss Vector is undeniably the best SMG in the game. In fact, it may very well be the best weapon across every weapon class in the entire game in the current meta. This submachine gun has one of the best "time to kill" rates in the game, fires bullets incredibly quickly, and reloads incredibly fast.
This is one of the few weapons in BattleBit Remastered that has essentially no downside to using it. It's stable, the recoil is controllable, and it's useful across all distances. Once players hit level 70, the Kriss Vector will win them many straightforward one-on-one firefights.
