One crucial question that needs to be addressed is, do we want a sequel? The Batman: Arkham series spans several games, which is why it might be time for a reboot. The story is becoming a convoluted mess, which is what can happen when a series runs too long. Nevertheless, fans everywhere are eagerly waiting for a sequel so that they can become Batman once again.

Rocksteady Studios has arguably the best Batman games around. Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are masterpieces. It's not a matter of if there will be another Batman game, but when. In the meantime, these are five things we want to see in the Batman: Arkham sequel (and five we don't).

10 More Bruce Wayne (Want To See)

Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same people, yet they represent two very different personalities. We love the amount of Batman contained in the Arkham series, yet the sequel would benefit from having more Bruce Wayne chapters.

Bruce Wayne is a spoiled billionaire with a string of exes who would describe him as being "loose." He struggles to come to grips with the death of his parents, who were murdered when he was a young boy. Akin to Batman: The Telltale Series, we'd like to see more developments for Bruce Wayne.

9 Too Much Batmobile (Don't)

The introduction of the Batmobile to the series in Batman: Arkham Knight was long overdue. Batman's most iconic vehicle showed much promise. Unfortunately, the potential for the Batmobile was squandered, and we received gameplay that was similar to the World of Tanks video game.

The game became dominated by repetitive tank combat scenes when it should've merely been a transport and chase vehicle. We love the Batmobile and World of Tanks, yet the combination doesn't work in the Arkham games.

8 An Immersive World (Want To See)

Ever since Batman: Arkham City, the worlds of the Batman: Arkham games have reached a level of immersion that is awe-inspiring.

The game series went from a linear progression system in Batman: Arkham Asylum to be more focused on an open-world. As long as developer Rocksteady Studios continues to release immersive games that contain seamless gameplay, there is a bright yet dark future for the Batman: Arkham series.

7 The Joker (Don't)

Without spoiling the Batman: Arkham games for those who haven't played them yet, it should be noted that adding The Joker to later installments might not work. Those familiar with the plot of Batman: Arkham City (which we highly recommend you play) probably understand The Joker's role in Arkham Knight.

We love The Joker, and perhaps a prequel game would work with his character. However, The Joker has been done to death in the Arkham series, and it's time to focus on overlooked Batman villains (e.g., The Phantasm or Court of Owls).

6 A New Batsuit (Want To See)

Fans are expecting a new Batsuit in the next Arkham game. The designers should be creative, but not stray too far from previous designs. Rocksteady Studios likes the metallic look that makes it look like Batman can withstand bullets.

It makes sense since Batman is continuously under fire, but the weight of the suit must be unbearable. Could it be time for the Batsuit to go back to its origins when it was a thin, lightweight material?

5 The Same Combat Mechanics (Don't)

It's going to be difficult for the next Batman: Arkham game to change their gameplay mechanics entirely, but we would like to see a new twist. The same combat mechanics as the previous games won't be sufficient for a sequel.

Batman's highly acclaimed freeflow combat system inspired games like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. They haven't changed much since the first Arkham game, which is why it's time for a change.

4 Batcave (Want To See)

Typically, Batman does much of his detective work in the Batcave. The Arkham series only has minor appearances of the Batcave in the series. Moreover, Wayne Manor has a small part in the games, when it should be a central location.

It might be called 'Batman: Arkham,' but it might be time to branch out to other sites besides Arkham. The game should focus on Arkham, but use different Gotham City locations as well.

3 One Playable Character (Don't)

Playing as Batman during the entire game can get repetitive. Thankfully, the series lets you play as multiple characters. In the Arkham games, we've played as characters like The Joker, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, and more.

The next Batman game should expand on this by adding more playable characters in the main story. However, it shouldn't force players to purchase DLC (downloadable content) to play as their favorite heroes and villains.

2 More Brutal Combos (Want To See)

It's clear from the most highly acclaimed video games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that players love to be rewarded. Even if they are merely adding to their combo meter and receiving XP, being rewarded adds to the enjoyment of a game.

It would be a godsend if Batman: Arkham's sequel added brutality to its combos. The game should not be grotesque but should show layers of realism in its combat.

1 Too Many Gadgets (Don't)

By the end of Batman: Arkham Knight, players have an abundance of gadgets. Although we love that Rocksteady Studios put effort into various devices, the gameplay becomes too tedious towards the end.

Switching between gadgets and progressing through the game becomes needlessly tiring. Earlier Batman: Arkham games had the right mix of gadgets, but it would seem as if they went overboard in this latest installment.
