It was recently released that the highly anticipated Batgirl film would no longer be released and fans are shocked and even more saddened that the film will never be available. As rumors and collective circulation about why the Batgirl film was trashed, eyes are looking to those who worked on the film to give the DCEU audience closure and the Batgirl directors are stepping up to do just that.

In a recent post made via Instagram, the directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah shared an emotional ode to the film's cast, crew, and fans.

We are saddened and shocked by the news. We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. Maybe one day they will insha’Allah,”

The heartbreaking sentiment continued, as they commended the films crew and cast members like Michael Keaton, JK Simmons, Brendan Fraiser, Jacob Scipio, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front, and lastly Batgirl herself Leslie Grace, who they applauded for playing the role with “so much passion, dedication, and humanity.” They ended their message by stating that they've been huge fans of the Batman franchise since they were both very young and that they still feel humbled to have been gifted with the opportunity to be brought into the DCEU that they admire so dearly even though it was short-lived, ending the post with “Batgirl For Life”.

The news that the $90 million film wouldn't be released broke Tuesday, due to the fact that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zazlav wants to save around $3 billion in costs, and he wants to focus the studio back on being theatrical and stray away from streaming events. This decision follows the studio's choice to trash many other DCEU television projects and other films in early production like the Wonder Twins film that was set to start shooting. As the news of these choices continues to be released fans are becoming even more saddened by the choices of Warner Bros. Studios.

Although fans will never get to see Batgirl and the cast's performances, they've been expressing their utmost admiration for the film's cast, crew, and directors, as they all have to grieve their months of hard work and love being discarded so unexpectedly.
