Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive RPG with gameplay and story elements lifted directly from Dungeons & Dragons. This means there are all sorts of systems and tricks you can use to dominate battles. If you have a fighter that regularly uses shields, the aptly named Shield of Shielding can come in handy. This shield adds +2 to your character's armor class.
It also gives the equipped character the Shield spell. Casting this spell allows you to react to attacks at the last second and add +5 to the character's armor class. The Shield spell also nullifies your enemy's Magic Missiles for a turn. The Shield of Shielding has Shield Bash as well. You can use this reaction once per turn to knock an enemy prone if they attack you. Here is where you can find this rare shield.
Baldur's Gate 3: Best Cloaks (& How To Get Them)
Cloaks may be somewhat overlooked in Baldur's Gate 3, but these choices can offer some decent benefits - or at least a few style points.
Stormshore Tabernacle Location
The Stormshore Tabernacle is a temple found in the Lower City part of Baldur's Gate. It's directly to the west of the Basilisk Gate Barracks and the Basilisk Gate fast travel point. You shouldn't miss this area as it is where you start after crossing over from the Wyrm's Rock Fortress in Rivington. You can make gold offerings to the various gods for a temporary buff. Vicar Humbtletoes tends to the tabernacle and has a variety of goods for sale.
Break Into the Tabernacle's Basement
You can break into the tabernacle basement by lockpicking the Ornate Wooden Hatch in the corner of the building. You can find it at coordinates (X:103,Y:-30.) Wait until the vicar is turned around while staring at the main altar or distract him by starting a conversation with a party member.
The tabernacle basement is laden with traps. There are multiple pressure plates and vents throughout both rooms. Walk carefully and your party should spot them after passing a perception check. Triggering the traps will result in your party receiving damage from the Holy Fire vents.
The Shield of Shielding can be found in the chest on the far right side of the room. Stealing from any chest in this room will curse the character who grabbed the item. This Castigated By Divinity curse will cause the affected character to die automatically the next time they are downed. The character's death will then cause a powerful Deva enemy to spawn and attack the party. Baldur's Gate 3's Remove Curse spell will help, but you will still have to fight a Deva. You can avoid the curse entirely by using a bludgeoning weapon to smash the chests and loot the items off the floor. The gods and the vicar will be unaware of your thievery.
