Baldur's Gate 3's Act 3 allows players to pick up yet another long-time Baldur's Gate hero: Minsc. This giant, witless addition to the player's party not only comes with a lot of history as a hero in previous games, but also his very own miniature giant space hamster. In order to get BG3's Minsc to join a player's party, they will first need to go through a bunch of quest steps that will lead them to a counting house. Once inside the lower levels of the vault, players will find a locked door that can only be unlocked with a code.

If players have kept the Harper druid Jaheira from the Last Light Inn alive until Act 3 and in their party, she will eventually ask players to help her save her old friend Minsc. He was turned to stone for 100 years, and she is desperate to help him out. Players will be able to track him down through the Nine-Fingers to the counting house, where he is apparently robbing the bank; but in order to stop him and get him to join the player's party, you will have to access the vault (x:949, y:782) first.

Counting House Vault Code

Once players the vault, they will find the door locked tight. There are four lights above the door. A plaque immediately in front states that players will need to refer to the Head Banker's Office for the code, but this office is on the second floor and heavily guarded. In order to bypass having to sneak in with a rogue like Astarion, grab the passcode, then sneak back out, players can just brute force the password or check below.

In order to press the code buttons, players should first ungroup one of their party members and use them. This will keep the other Baldur's Gate 3 companions from following them around and accidently clicking one of the buttons on the floor. Next, click these four buttons in this order:

  • Upper left button
  • Upper right button
  • Middle button
  • Middle right button

The bank vault in Baldur's Gate 3 should then open, and players are free to head inside. There will be a battle in there, however, with several enemies that can turn invisible; players should prepare for this battle ahead of time if they want to have an easy time of it.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available for PC.
