Every weary traveler needs a place to sit a spell, even the heroes of Baldur's Gate 3, and not everyone can afford Sharess' Caress. For the more frugally minded, there's Fraygo's Flophouse. It's not the classiest place in town, but an adventurer can visit for a modest price.

Beyond the practical uses as a place to stay, chat, and buy or sell some wares, Fraygo's Flophouse is an important location in Wyrm's Crossing. Those with a penchant for thievery will have a lot of pockets and locks to pick, and most players will have to visit this location to advance some important side quests.

Wyrm's Crossing

Wyrm's Crossing, Baldur's Gate 3

Th Sword Coast used to be known as the Bridge District, and it was considered a part of the city of Baldur's Gate a hundred years ago when the first two games took place. There are four major buildings in this zone and all of them are important to the lore, story, and quests in the game.

  • Sharess' Caress: This is where the Drow Twins can be found, along with quest-related NPCs like Investigator Valeria and Arfur Gregorio.
  • Danthelon's Dancing Axe Potion Shop: Make sure Jaheira is in the party when visiting this location, as it's a not-so-secret Harper meeting place.
  • Carm's Garm: Other than the upscale Facemaker Boutique in the city, this is the other store in town that sells casual clothing.
  • Fraygo's Flophouse: A hostel of sorts that has a bar, a vendor, and certain interesting guests and long-term residents.

The Flowery Key

This is likely the item that brought the adventuring party here in the first place. It's part of the Investigate the Murders quest that starts at the Open Hand Temple in Rivington. The key is found on one of the doppelganger bodies that the party confronts in the tunnels beneath the Open Hand Monastery.

The key is used on a locked wardrobe on the top floor and opens a secret door to another room. This is where players can find the evidence to convince Investigator Valeria to reconsider the initial conclusion regarding the murders.

If players investigate the hidden room, they'll be able to complete another side quest, Find The Stern Librarian Ffion. This starts with Mamzell, the proprietor of Sharess' Caress across the street.

It's possible to get through the wardrobe using the Lockpick ability, but the quest is to find out what the Flowery Key is for. If the lock is picked or blown up, the key will always remain a mystery. Make sure to use the key instead, or th quest won't progress.

The Vampire Spawn

If the party is visiting the Flophouse before confronting Cazador as part of The Pale Elf companion quest, there's a room on the main floor with two vampires spawn in it. They're constantly taking sunlight damage, so they're easy to find.

Speaking to the vampire spawn will trigger a dialogue scene with Astarion and progress two quests; The Pale Elf companion and its sister quest, Investigate Cazador's Palace. Depending on the dialogue choices, the spawn can be coerced into revealing more information about the Vampire Lord's ritual.
