A Baldur’s Gate 3 player just modeled their custom Gnome character after Kratos from the God of War series. The latest installment in the Baldur’s Gate series launched for PC earlier this week, and it is already one of the biggest and most popular games on Steam to date. Just like past installments, Baldur’s Gate 3 bases its rules and gameplay systems on those of the Dungeons and Dragons franchise and allows players to embark on a mystical journey to defeat the dark forces that threaten Faerun.

Part of this experience is being able to craft a custom character to play as, and Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players plenty of options for their hero. From selecting a backstory to choosing from one of nine different playable races, Baldur’s Gate 3 players have no shortage of possibilities when it comes to building their avatar in the spirit of the tabletop RPGs the game is inspired by. Naturally, some players might use Baldur’s Gate 3’s character customization tools to recreate famous warriors from other games and properties – including one legendary PlayStation anti-hero known and feared across the lands of Greek and Nordic mythology.

Reddit user spudzzy recently shared an image of their inspired Baldur’s Gate 3 Gnome character, which is modeled after Kratos from God of War. Named “Kratome,” this pint-sized warrior carries the Ghost of Sparta’s distinctive ash-white completion and red markings, in addition to the simple leather garb, full beard, and hefty battle axe he sported in his later Norse adventures. The only major differences between Kratome and his inspiration are his size and pointy elf-like ears.

The original Kratos was created as the main protagonist of the God of War series way back in 2005 and would become a flagship character for the PlayStation brand in the years since. He began his journey as an angry, vengeful figure out to avenge his slain family by destroying the Gods of Mount Olympus in the original God of War trilogy, but would later mellow out and seek a much more enlightened path alongside his son Atreus. This journey reached its apex in last year’s God of War Ragnarok, which launched on the PlayStation 5 to massive praise and multiple gaming awards.

It's not yet clear when Kratos will return in a new God of War game, but it looks like at least one player has brought the Ghost of Sparta to life in Baldur’s Gate 3, at least in Gnome form. Since the genuine article is known for towering over mortal and deity alike in the God of War games, seeing Kratos reimagined as a smaller but no less fierce Gnome is a fun novelty, as well as a testament to the varied and in-depth character customization suite that Baldur’s Gate 3 grants its players.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out now on PC and will come out on September 6 for PS5. An Xbox version is in development.
