Google kicked off its first Stadia Connect presentation with a bang by announcing Baldur's Gate 3, a game that fans have been waiting for since Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn launched all the way back in 2000. With Baldur's Gate 3, fans will be getting their hands on a game that has been 20 years in the making.

Since it's been such a long time since Baldur's Gate 2's launch, expectations for Baldur's Gate 3 will be even higher than usual. Luckily, acclaimed developer Larian Studios is handling the development of Baldur's Gate 3, with the company reportedly tripling its size to work on the project.

While Baldur's Gate 3 will be available on PC, it will have advantages for those who play it through Google Stadia. Since Google Stadia handles most of the processing in Google's data centers, it means that gamers won't need a powerful rig to play Baldur's Gate 3 at its highest settings. They'll just need reasonably fast Internet - around 35 mbps or higher.

Baldur's Gate3 has been rumored for quite some time, so it's no doubt exciting for fans to see the game finally announced. Unfortunately, we're not quite sure how long fans will have to wait to actually get their hands on Baldur's Gate 3. Right now, there is no release date information available for Baldur's Gate 3, and we don't know how long it's been in development.

And while all Larian showed of Baldur's Gate 3 was a cinematic trailer, there is some pretty significant information that can be taken from it. Namely, it seems as though Baldur's Gate 3 will feature Mind Flayers prominently in the story, as we see a character morph into one in the trailer.

More information on Baldur's Gate 3 should become available as the game's development progresses. Meanwhile, fans of the classic action-RPG franchise can rest easy knowing that it's in the hands of Larian Studios, who has a proven track record of creating similar games that have earned widespread critical acclaim.

Baldur's Gate 3 is in development for PC and Google Stadia.
