There are tons of areas to explore in Baldur's Gate 3, and it's possible to miss some of them if players fail their real-life Perception checks. One such location is Grymforge, a part of the wider underground network of caves and chasms beneath the Sword Coast where the fabled Adamantine Forge lies in waiting.

Updated September 1st, 2023: Players who want to get the most out of Act 1 in Baldur's Gate need to be sure to check into the Grymforge. This powerful forge area is filled with loot, an imposing boss, and gives players the ability to craft unique gear to help strengthen their team. Unfortunately, finding the Grymforge is a bit difficult for players that aren't sure where to look as it's a bit "off the beaten path." To help players find the Grymforge in Baldur's Gate 3, the following guide has been updated with a video.

How Do You Get To Grymforge In Baldur's Gate 3?

So far, the only known way to get to Grymforge is via the Underdark. Once players resolve the issue between the Druids and the Goblins along the coastline, players will be prompted to go to Moonrise Tower so they can find more leads on how to remove the Illithid tadpole in their heads. Instead of hiking up the Mountain Pass, players should take the less scenic route and go explore the underground caves.

There are four different ways to reach the Underdark, and the route inside the Defiled Temple is arguably the easiest of them all. Go to the jail room inside the Goblin Camp and either kill or persuade the Ogress. Players will eventually see a floor puzzle that, when solved, will open the way to a comically long ladder leading straight to a Selunite Outpost in the Underdark.

From the outpost, exit from either one of the open windows to the west or sneak out the front gate. There will be monsters near both exits, so prepare for a fight. Then, head to the map location shown above to reach a beach where a party of Duergar is lying in an ambush.

Deal with the Duergar and interact with the boat by the pier. This will take players to Grymforge, though not without facing a slight hiccup along the way. The party will encounter another boat crewed by more Duergar. Players can talk their way out of this situation or pick a fight with the cultists. Either way, they'll reach Grymforge by the end. They'll be greeted by even more cultists on the other side, marking the beginning of a new adventure involving another True Soul and many more secrets.

Grymforge is best suited for a party of Level 5 Adventurers. Expect to fight dwarves, constructs, elementals, and an assortment of underground monsters.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC with a PS5 version coming soon.
