Baldur's Gate 3 is already a massive RPG through it's first two acts. Act 3 finally brings your party to the city of Baldur's Gate. The city itself is much bigger than the earlier areas. It can be intimidating at first, but with some patience, you can map out all of its streets and hidden secrets. This is where the rest of the game will take place. It's up to you to forge alliances with your companions and various factions for the looming final battle. The Counting House is the bank in Baldur's Gate. You can get inside of it and steal some of its valuables with no consequences. All you have to do is get past its defenses.

By following these tips, players can rest assured that they can dominate most encounters in Baldur's Gate 3 with ease.

The Counting HouseThe counting house is labeled on the map

The Counting House is located to the south in the Lower City between the Grey Harbor and Heapside Strand areas. Its main floor has many guards and alarm systems. The back side of the bank is also patrolled by Steel Watchers.

The counting house head clerk stands at his desk

You can walk into the front entrance and speak with the head clerk at the desk to the right. You can pay him a hefty fee to get a bank pass or use Detect Thoughts to learn about the situation in the bank. Ask him about what's going on the lower floors to receive a temporary pass. This will act the same as a normal pass and allow you to enter the lower levels unbothered. Continue down the stairs straight, then to the right. Turn right again past the guards to descend to the vault level.

Disable the Teleporting Traps

On the left side of the hall is a room with a glowing purple circle. Enter the circle, and you will be teleported back to the entrance of the room. Use a ranged attack to aim at the twobuttons to the left and right of the chandelier at the center of the room. Hitting both will disarm the teleporting circles, so you can walk around freely. There are vault keys that can be found throughout the city, or you can pass a 25 Lockpicking check to crack them open.

Bypass the Vault Gates

On the right side of the hall is a room with another set of vaults. These are blocked off by gates that can't be opened. Bring a rogue equipped with the Amulet of Misty Step or Disentegrating Night Walkers boots. Use Misty Step to teleport behind the gates. All of these safes have a 20 Lockpicking skill check. Use Short Rest so you can Misty Step back out. It may take a few Long and Short rests to completely loot all the vaults, but they are worth it if you need some gold.
