As you choose the path of Lae'Zel in your Baldur's Gate 3 adventure, one of the locations you will surely need to visit is Rosymorn Monastery, and at its entrance, you will encounter Gremishkas. Although they may seem easy at first glance, these monsters can hit you hard if you are not prepared for the fight. While dealing fairly low damage, Gremishkas have strong magic resistance and, at the same time, can become invisible.

BG3: How To Beat Gremishkas

Rosymorn Monastery in BG3

You can encounter Gremishkas if you climb the vines next to Rosymorn Monastery and then break the barricade and teleport to the second floor. Be prepared for the fact that these creatures can become invisible, so we recommend casting See Invisibility or drinking the See Invisibility Potion in the beginning.

The main weapon of Gremishkas is their Magical Allergy, which means that these monsters will have special effects when you use magic in any form, regardless of whether it is aimed at them or, for example, at your companions. So now that you've gotten a little bit familiar with the basic Gremishka traits, let's get right into tips on how to beat these creatures:

  • First of all, you need to be sure that you can instantly see Gremishkas when you meet them. In addition to the methods mentioned above, you can alternatively equip yourself with the Volo Ersatz Eye, and this may be even better, as you will permanently see Gremishkas. At the same time, the Volo Ersatz Eye option is quite simple, as it requires completing only one simple quest, so it's worth trying to fulfill this option.
  • Please note that because of their Magical Allergy, you should not use any magic; otherwise, you will face random effects that will not work in your favor. Instead, we recommend using characters with good physical attacks. For example, if your class is barbarian, or you have a Lae'zel in your team, you should easily defeat Gremishkas.
  • There is also an option to deal significant damage to Gremishkas using long-range spells. This way, you can keep the party at a safe distance while still dealing serious damage to your opponents. A good example of such spells is Magic Missile, as it has enough distance to avoid the effects of Magical Allergy.

Speaking of the effects that Gremishkas have when spells are cast near them, there are a total of five possible types:

  • Each Gremishka creates its copy, thereby increasing the number of enemies you have to deal with.
  • Gremishka will turn into a Panther.
  • Gremishkas will explode, dealing Force Damage to characters in range and Dazing them at the same time.
  • Gremishka will have triple Enlarged, Haste, and Mirror Image applied to it.
  • The ground will be covered with ice.

Nevertheless, following our instructions and using only ranged spells when necessary, you can easily avoid the harmful effect and defeat the Gremishkas. As a pleasant reward for your efforts, you will receive a valuable resource, Gremishka Tails, needed to make Wizardsbane Oil.
