Highlights

  • Larian Studios has released another hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3, following its release on PS5.
  • This sixth hotfix addresses issues such as bugs in dialogue, in-game tutorials, and visual artifacts in an Underdark dialogue.
  • Despite some technical problems, Baldur's Gate 3 is highly acclaimed, and the team is committed to addressing issues as they arise.

In the wake of its release on PS5 and preparing the upcoming Xbox Series X and Series S versions of the game, Larian Studios has issued yet another Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix. This latest update fixes a handful of issues and comes only days after the last sizable Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix.

After some stellar reviews and word of mouth, Baldur's Gate 3 has quickly become one of the biggest surprise hits of the summer. The feature-rich CPRG features countless customization options, a massive world to explore, and a branching story that relies heavily on player choice. With a game this dense and long, it comes as no surprise that there are a few technical issues. That said, the team has been addressing these various issues quite diligently since its release.

While the sixth hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3 is admittedly a bit smaller than its fifth, it does address some important issues raised by gamers. The listed changes include fixes to bugs that prevented players from starting a new dialogue, in-game tutorials not showing up at proper times, as well as a fix to "visual artefacts in an Underdark dialogue." These dialogue and controller interface issues were reported by the community and addressed by Larian Studios in this recent patch.

Despite the game's recent release on PS5 and its upcoming launch on Xbox Series X/S, the team remains committed to releasing fixes for the game as necessary. In fact, while Larian Studios is having Baldur's Gate 3 DLC discussions, the team states that it is first committed to patching current versions of the game.

Perhaps one of the next big issues the team would like to address is split-screen play. Baldur's Gate 3 split-screen is reportedly having issues on PS5, and it is a problem that is also plaguing the upcoming Xbox Series S version. Still, despite some technical hiccups, the game remains one of the best-reviewed titles available on PC and PS5.

Baldur's Gate 3 is widely considered to be one of the best modern-day CPRGs, and with the sheer breadth of content available, it isn't hard to see why. Campaigns are taking players upwards of 100 hours and even longer, so some minor bugs aren't uncommon when it comes to sprawling RPGs. Still, Larian Studios remains committed to addressing any issues, as they pop up within the community.
