A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan on YouTube created a video combining the popular fantasy RPG with the classic 90s sitcom Friends. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been the subject of a wide variety of memes. Many Baldur's Gate 3 memes have been inspired by the characters themselves as they all have unique personalities, a trait that can also be found in the characters from Friends.

The success of the DnD-like title can be attributed to how Baldur’s Gate 3 gives fans what they want, such as releasing numerous patches and hotfixes since its initial launch to address feedback. Some of these updates added more story content and dialogue for companions in the game, which allows players to further their relationship with them.

On YouTube, BG3 fan Sho recreated the Friends intro using Baldur’s Gate 3's party members, which features the six Origin Companions. The mashup introduces each character by mirroring the show’s intro, giving viewers an idea of what they're like by seeing them in action. Sho stated that the idea for the parody originated after coming across a fountain in Baldur’s Gate 3 as it reminded them of the fountain from the Friends intro. With there being six Origin Characters as well, it made sense to them to replicate the show's introduction since there are also six members on the Friends cast.

Much like the Friends intro, the parody version captures the likeness of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin Companions. Each introduction shows a cutscene that highlights a character’s personality, and then shows the group interacting with one another. Much like the Friends intro, the ending shows the group dancing and having a fun time with each other in front of the fountain.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in the comment section have expressed their love for the video. Not only that, but they have said that it makes them appreciate BG3 characters like Lae'zel more than before.

It can be tough deciding who the best Origin Character in BG3 is since there are plenty of humorous and emotional situations that Baldur’s Gate 3's characters can find themselves in. A wide variety of meme compilations have been created on social media platforms of these moments, so it can be expected more videos such as this one will surface in the BG3 community.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out now for PC, PS5, and an Xbox Series X/S version is expected to launch in late 2023.
