Baldur's Gate 3 will be showcased for the first time at the PAX East convention, which is less than a week away. The development of the RPG is clearly moving along productively. It's reached a point where potential Baldur's Gate 3 players are interested in hearing Larian Studio's plans to launch the game. It seems Hasbro, the parent company of Wizards of the Coast, agrees. At an investor event at the recent New York Toy Fair, a Hasbro representative confirmed plans to release Baldur's Gate 3 in Early Access in 2020.

The news is sourced from BellOfLostSouls.net, which only sources Hasbro for the information. Hasbro reportedly discussed the status of 7 different games that were in development at various studios. Baldur's Gate 3 and Dark Alliance being the only two games currently announced. Hasbro allegedly went on to say that "Baldur's Gate 3 is scheduled for Early Access" later this year.

It must be said that this information hasn't been verified through another source, as of yet. As such, it's possible that Hasbro's comments are inaccurate or have been misinterpreted.

There is some supporting information regarding a Baldur's Gate 3 release in 2020, however. Google Stadia in this past week's community update confirmed a list of games that would be coming to the streaming service in 2020. Baldur's Gate 3 was included on Google Stadia's list. Larian Studio's issues a response to the Google Stadia leak relatively quickly. The studio confirmed that it has not announced a release period and that it was included on the Google Stadia list in error.

Baldur's Gate 3 development does seem to be coming along quite well. Larian is also surprisingly consistent at putting out new games every 3-4 years. Since Divinity: Original Sin 2 was released in 2017, a 2020 or 2021 launch would be on-schedule. It also has a history of releasing games in Early Access months before final launch. A late 2020 Early Access launch would not be surprising.

As noted, Hasbro also brought up that there were 7 Wizards of the Coast games in development. Those include Baldur's Gate 3 and Dark Alliance, as well as the new game from "BioWare 2.0" studio Archetype Entertainment. The five unannounced games were reportedly said to be announced one per year between now and 2025. The next 5 years are going to be very good for Dungeons & Dragons fans.

Baldur's Gate 3 is coming to Google Stadia and PC.
