Larian Studios, the developer of Baldur’s Gate 3, has recently revealed that the title will have 174 hours of cinematics. Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most hyped RPGs coming out in 2023, and it seems that it will probably be among the longest ones, too.

Since its official announcement back in 2019, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been eagerly awaited both by fans who played the classics back in the day and fans of Larian’s recent creations such as Divinity: Original Sin 2. Now, after a few changes in its schedule, Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch for PC on August 3, and it seems like it’ll be Larian Studios’ largest game ever.

Recently, the devs behind Baldur’s Gate 3 confirmed that the game already has 174 hours of cinematics planned for the official release. As a comparison, Larian affirmed that this is twice the length of every season of Game of Thrones combined. However, it’s unlikely that anyone will see all of these cutscenes in a single playthrough. With several different characters and possible branching paths for quests, it’s probable that Larian is counting all the content the company created, not everything that someone will experience.

Larian also confirmed more playable races and classes for Baldur’s Gate 3 recently. Gamers who play the final version will get access to the Monk, Dragonborn, and Half-Orc, all of which are currently absent from the Early Access version of the title. Also, all the other classes are getting at least one new subclass, and a maximum level cap of 12 will be implemented. Some new subclasses include the Spore Druid, the Gloom Stalker for Rangers, the new Assassin for Rogues, and much more. The class that will gain more subclasses is the Wizard, as players will be able to access the schools of Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Necromancy, Illusion, and Transmutation.

Unfortunately, Xbox gamers may need to wait for a while before they can get their hands on Baldur’s Gate 3. Recently, Larian explained that it was hard to make the game work on Xbox Series S when using the co-op features, which will be very expansive and allow players to explore cities apart from each other freely, for instance. Microsoft demands that the game should run on both Series S and X, so there’s no Baldur’s Gate 3 release for Xbox at the moment, but it may still be out when this issue is solved.

Baldur's Gate 3 is coming to PC on August 3 and PS5 on September 6.
