Starting Blind the Absolute
The Blind the Absolute subquest begins when the player speaks to Elder Brithvar in Grymforge. The dwarf will emphasize that this needs to be done quietly and without anyone noticing. If the character agrees to help the Elder Brithvar deceive Nere, the Blind the Absolute subquest will begin.
How to Kill the Scrying Eye
When the Scrying Eye is scouting the area, approach it from behind and use the Hide action to lure the Eye into following the character. It is vital that no one notices this, or else the task will fail and the entire fortress will become aggressive towards the hero.
There are several ways to destroy the Eye, the easiest of which is to kick it off the cliff and into the lava. This is the simplest and quickest method, saving the player time.
Once the Scrying Eye has reacted to the hero's actions and started to follow them, lead him to the cliff where the Defaced Statue of Shar has been. On the way to it, it is worth checking if the Eye is still tracking the hero.
