  • Amelyssan betrays the Bhaalspawn and becomes the final boss, while Illasera, Sendai, and Abazigal have unique abilities and benefits in battle.

The Murder Tribunal of Bhaal is hidden within the titular city of Baldur's Gate 3. Players can gain access by tracking down a serial killer hoping to earn Bhaal's favor. There, Baldur's Gate 3 players will be judged by undead echoes of Bhaal-associated characters from the previous Baldur's Gate games. Sarevok Anchev, their leader, and his legacy is discussed in depth in-game, but the others may be completely unknown to those who did not play the first two games. These are the four Echoes players can meet and potentially fight as part of Baldur's Gate 3's Murder Tribunal.

Larian Studios officially launches the massive Patch 5 update for Baldur's Gate 3, including new story content and new ways to play.

Amelyssan Was Bhaal's Ambitious High Priestess

Amelyssan the Blackhearted initially presented herself as an ally to the player in Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal before revealing her true identity as a high priestess of Bhaal. Although not a Bhaalspawn herself, Amelyssan possessed a great amount of power granted to her by the Lord of Murder. She assembled a group of Bhaalspawn and claimed she would help them allow their father to manifest, but betrayed them and attempted to become the new Goddess of Murder in an epic battle against the player's party. She was the true final boss of Throne of Bhaal.

Amelyssan's Echo Features

  • Amelyssan is a Human who can cast Fly, Sanctuary, and Warding Bond as well as heal her allies.
  • When her Echo is defeated, she will heal Sarevok 2d12 HP.

Illasera Served As Throne Of Bhaal's First Foe

One of five Bhaalspawn gathered by Amelyssan, Illasera was an elven assassin known as "the Quick." She fought players almost immediately after they defeated the villain Jon Irenicus, and was used to introduce the plot of the Bhaalspawn wanting to take down Gorion's Ward. Because she was an early-game boss in Throne of Bhaal, she was relatively weak despite being a supposedly powerful Bhaalspawn. Due to this, she plays a fairly minor role in the Tribunal.

Illasera's Echo Features

  • Illasera is an Elf (probably Wood Elf) who can cast Haste on herself, Sarevok, or the other Echoes.
  • After her Echo is defeated, Sarevok is permanently Hastened.

Sendai Commanded Many Monsters

The imperious drow Sendai was encountered in Throne of Bhaal ruling over a massive enclave filled with slaves and monsters under her control. She demonstrated immense power over the creatures of the Underdark, including beholders, illithids, duergar, and many more. Her fight against Gorion's Ward was a tricky one, requiring players to take on multiple statue clones in addition to Sendai herself and her horde of enthralled creatures. Although Sendai herself was a magic user, the statues were capable of shifting between many different classes.

Sendai's Echo Features

  • Sendai is a Drow who tends to use Slow or Command in battle.
  • After her Echo is defeated, Sendai increases Sarevok's Armor Class by 6.

Abazigal Had A Draconic Secret

Initially presenting himself as a normal human, the Bhaalspawn Abazigal was in fact a blue dragon. He had a superior, self-important attitude and believed that only dragons were worthy of receiving the essence of Bhaal. He was one of Throne of Bhaal's trickiest fights, with Jaheira's superior electricity resistance providing valuable to surviving the battle. In Baldur's Gate 3, Abazigal appears as a blue dragonborn rather than returning to his human disguise. Should players impress the Murder Tribunal rather than fighting them, he will be unlocked as a trader who will sell powerful weapons and armor to the player.

Abazigal's Echo Features

  • Abazigal is a Dragonborn who boasts high HP and an impressive Strength score of 20.
  • After his Echo is defeated, Abazigal causes all of Sarevok's future attacks to do maximum damage.
