One of the companions, a vampire spawn named Astarion, wants players to kill his old master, Cazador. But in order to complete this quest chain, called The Pale Elf, the player avatar will have to look around the city for some of Astarion's siblings. Only then will they be able to gain the information needed about Cazador's whereabouts.

The Pale Elf is a long quest chain, and it includes a lot of steps. Up until this point, players will have had to complete all the steps in both Act 1 and Act 2 of the game. These are:

  • Don't cast out or hurt Astarion for trying to drink the avatar's blood.
  • He will eventually tell players that he is a slave to a vampire called Cazador, and the Illithid tadpole is the only thing keeping him from having to obey his master's orders.
  • Bring him to the little camp south of Auntie's Teahouse, find the monster hunter, and it will trigger a scene with him. He is sure Cazador is the one who hired him.
  • Wait until there is a cutscene between the player and Astarion at night; he will be trying to read the scars on his back with his fingers. Talk to him about it and offer to try to read it or draw it in the dirt for him. He will realize it is written in infernal script, and he asks players to bring him along the next time they will meet up with Rafael, so he can ask about them.
  • Have Rafael read the text in return for slaying an infernal in the Mausoleum in Act 2.
  • When Astarion learns of Cazador's plans, he asks players to take him to Baldur's Gate; there he plans to kill Cazador whether players plan to romance this BG3 companion or not. But in order to find him, Astarion asks the player to look for one of his "sibling" vampire spawn slaves.

Where To Find Astarion's Siblings In Baldur's Gate

In Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3, Astarion mentions that his siblings would most likely be found in places similar to or close to Sharess' Caress. Therefore, starting to look for them in Wyrm's Crossing is a good idea. There will be two siblings located in the Flophouse immediately across the street from Sharess' Caress, near the entrance to Wyrm's Crossing. It will be located on the western side of the street.

The siblings are both up the stairs and to the left, in a room with several beds in it. Once found, players will be able to interact with them, starting a cutscene wherein the interesting character, Astarion, will use any method he needs to in order to get the information he needs.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available for PC and PlayStation 5. An Xbox Series X/S version is currently in development.
