10 He's Tadpole Free
A trait that most companions and love interests in Baldur's Gate 3 share is the illithid tadpole that infects their minds. This trait can be helpful, allowing the companions to communicate with each other through a single thought. However, there are some heavy downsides, namely the gradual process of ceremorphosis that they will eventually undergo unless they can cure it.
It weighs heavy on the minds of most love interests, but Halsin is the exception. While he shows some interest in the tadpoles, he is the only love interest who isn't infected with one himself. This can make him a breath of fresh air as a companion and lover.

This is noted by other companions, with Lae'zel commenting on his tree-trunk like arms, and Karlach respecting him for being 'hench.' In addition to his impressive muscles, he also stands out thanks to the fierce scars and tattoo on his face, and the long hair that he does share with more conventional elves.
8 Adorably Bemused By Civilization
Halsin is a druid through and through, embracing a roving life in the wilds and rejecting conventional society. This means that his interactions with civilization, particularly when reaching Baldur's Gate, can be amusing if not downright adorable.
Taking him to the circus and seeing his reactions to this strange new world can be a lovely date. But his adorable discomfort can sometimes come with a genuine heartbreak when he sees the darker side to civilization. Partners will likely see him lament the fate of those who aren't protected by society the way they should be.
7 Carefree Life
While everyone has their own problems in life, those problems seem to come by the dozen for most of the Baldur's Gate 3 love interests. If players want a lover with slightly less angst, Halsin is a solid choice.
Like everyone, there are things that he struggles with. The trouble at the Druid Grove, the oppressive weight of the shadow curse, and the failings of civilization to protect its people all weigh on his mind. They can all cause him to doubt himself, his leadership, and the value of humanity. For the most point, however, Halsin tends to be one of the luckier love interests, swerving a lot of the tragedy that others face.
6 Wild Combatant, Wilder Lover
Capable of tearing through hordes of enemies in the form of an animal, or conjuring powerful effects of nature, Halsin is a beast to have in battle. This makes him worth recruiting, even if players don't plan on romancing him. But for those who do, his wild nature in combat is reflected in his displays of affection.
Players can rest assured that Halsin is as wild a lover as he is a fighter. But his feral style of lovemaking will be touched on further down the list. Halsin is a valuable character to have at a player's side, as an ally or as a lover.
5 Free To Roam
For players who are struggling to pick from the many romance options in Baldur's Gate 3, or for those who want to embrace multiple lovers, Halsin is the perfect choice. While some love interests are entirely monogamous, or others accept polyamory with a little more hesitation, Halsin may be one of the biggest advocates for polyamory in the game. As he feels nature intended, he is almost incapable of taking a single lover at a time, and happily talks about his many past loves.
While he adores the player character, should they romance him, and says that they are all he wants, he states that he has no desire to be their only lover. He is happy to share the player's affections, so long as their other partners consent to this arrangement as well. Halsin is a respectful and passionate option for those seeking a polyamorous relationship in Baldur's Gate 3.
4 Sweet Talker
While all the romance options can get quite flirty with the player, Halsin can be one of the more smooth talking options. It seems, with his long life, he has come to learn the subtle art of sweet-talking, and is very flattering when speaking to his lover.
Due to his love of nature, players who romance Halsin are likely to find themselves compared to the greatest sights and experiences that the natural world has to offer. Of all the romance options, Halsin is sure to make players blush with his honeyed words, which are nothing but sincere.
3 Bond Over Time
While some may appreciate love interests like Gale, who all but throw themselves at the player as long as they're vaguely nice, Halsin is proof that some of the best relationships take some time and care to blossom.
Halsin can be encountered and befriended in act one by saving him from the Goblin Camp. But although he will join the camp, he isn't yet available as a companion, much less a love interest (although he does enjoy a good flirt at the tiefling party). He can be recruited in act two, after players undertake a grueling quest to lift the shadow curse, but romancing him still requires some wooing. He makes sure the effort pays off, though.
2 Nature Lover
Halsin is sure to win the heart of any nature lover. As a druid, it is no surprise that he adores the many shades of beauty that the natural world brings.
From the flora to the fauna, Halsin has a heartwarming appreciation for the world, and a desire to wander and witness it. Any player with a healthy helping of wanderlust is sure to be drawn to this side of him. It's endearing to hear the way he gushes about nature, and his particular fondness for ducks adds to the adorable factor.
1 That Scene
Many players are likely to be drawn towards romancing Halsin due to a particular intimacy scene that gained infamy during the development of the full release. 'The Bear Scene,' as it is known, is something that should be experienced first hand.
Let's be honest, there aren't many times in a game that players are likely to get the option to be intimate with a druid in their bear wild shape form. Halsin is certainly an unconventional but very charming love interest, for many reasons beside his animalistic intimacy, but that is definitely a selling point!
