Thanks to her Selunite magic to maintain the moon shield, she is ensuring the innocents inside do not die.

Yet, players can ruin all of this and kill her, thus ending the protection of the Last Light Inn, and bringing forth death onto those inside. However, this could potentially include the player and their party. Isobel is an important death, not only because of those who die with her but because Dame Aylin will dedicate her immortality to killing the player and their children, and their children's children.

With his death, players will become mind flayers. Becoming a unique protagonist and creating the physical appearance, name, and personality of the character that will lead the countless hours of adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a rather personal journey, so it makes sense that players wouldn’t want to see this character die. When players are plopped into the world, their player-created character will be infected with a tadpole, a parasite in their brain that will slowly turn them into a mind flayer without help.

Gale was imbued with the power of a Netherese orb, which means that he has to continue to consume magical artifacts, or else he will die, and perish in an explosive force that has the power of the Weave itself. It’s essentially a nuclear bomb made of magic, and Gale can detonate it with his death.

If players are to kill Gale, then his spectral form will confirm that in 3 days, he will explode if not resurrected. Alternatively, if Gale is to explode in the story, then the game will end. Basically, if Gale blows up, the player dies and its game over, so his death is pretty essential to avoid. Besides, keeping Gale alive and following his quest could see him become a god.
