Although it might hypothetically only take an hour or two to rush the main quest, players will find they have to find battles that require their party members to be ready and prepared. Switching party members to counter each scenario is good, but almost everyone who completes just the main quest will still need to do some extra fights just to stay at a high enough level.

Some players are recording times of over 100 hours and this is also not uncommon. Those who check out every item, customize their armor and clothing, and enjoy the beautiful scenery will find themselves in the middle of a game that can take months to beat with a normal schedule.

Unlike some open-world games, this is a very memorable journey and the length of time will not be spent leveling up or grinding. Exploration yields secrets, hidden treasures, and exciting combat scenarios that fans of the genre have been so excited about.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available now for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
