Players looking for a quick game should not play Baldur's Gate 3. It's actually not as long as some of the estimations thought. There are apparently 174 hours of cutscenes and more than two million words but players would need to play the game multiple times to see, read, and hear all of this literature in action.
Even so, Baldur's Gate 3 is about a long journey that isn't straightforward. Even the main quest leads players in different directions. There is a quicker way to be the entire game but those who want to do all the side quests and achievements will be in for a ride that can take a long time to complete.

Although it might hypothetically only take an hour or two to rush the main quest, players will find they have to find battles that require their party members to be ready and prepared. Switching party members to counter each scenario is good, but almost everyone who completes just the main quest will still need to do some extra fights just to stay at a high enough level.
Some players are recording times of over 100 hours and this is also not uncommon. Those who check out every item, customize their armor and clothing, and enjoy the beautiful scenery will find themselves in the middle of a game that can take months to beat with a normal schedule.
