13 Ring Of Jumping

Access To The Level One Transmutation Spell, Enhance Leap

Baldur's Gate 3 Derryth
  • Location: Ebonlake Grotto
  • Related Quests: Find The Mushroom Picker
  • Use: Enhance Leap, Level One Transmutation Spell, triples a creature's jump distance

This ring is primarily a utility ring, allowing for easier traversal by its wearer. This is because it allows the wearer to cast the level one transmutation spell, Enhance Leap. Both the spell and the ring do exactly what their names suggest, tripling a creature's jump distance.

While it may not be as immediately beneficial as the other rings on this list, having a huge jump distance can make some exploration puzzles a breeze. It also helps that it's very easy to acquire, simply by being purchased (or stolen) from Derryth Bonecloak in the Underdark's Myconid Colony.

12 Spurred Band

Grants Momentum When Wearer Starts Their Turn With 50% HP Or Less

Baldur's Gate 3 Whispering Depths Location & Walkthrough
  • Location: Whispering Depths
  • Related Quests: Unlock The Ancient Tome
  • Use: Grants one turn of momentum when the wearer starts their turn with 50% of their hit points or less

The Spurred Band can be found on the skeleton next to the Apprentice's Backpack in the Whispering Depths. Its effect can be useful for getting out of a tight scrape, as it will grant a turn of momentum when the wearer starts their turn with 50% of their hit points or less.

Momentum is one of those effects in Baldur's Gate 3 that can be a little unclear at first, but it simply increases a character's movement speed by 1.5m or 5ft. Since this ring is easy to find, it is well worth going out of the way to grab it, although players may need to tangle with a pair of ettercaps and phase spiders to claim it for their own.

11 Crusher's Ring

Increases Wearer's Movement Speed By 3m/10ft

Baldur's Gate 3, Crusher The Goblin
  • Location: Goblin Camp
  • Related Quests: Defeat The Goblins
  • Use: Increases the wearer's movement speed by 3m/10ft

This ring, belonging to the arrogant goblin, Crusher, is basically just a souped-up version of the Spurred Band. While the Spurred Band will only increase a character's movement speed when they're at or below half health, Crusher's Ring increases the wearer's movement speed by a whole 3m or 10ft as long as it's equipped.

All legendary weapons in Baldur's Gate 3 offer players great power, but which of them are definitive choices to bring into the party to win the fight?

If players are planning to slaughter the goblin camp, then it will be easy enough to loot the ring off Crusher's body. However, more subtle players can go along with Crusher's demand to kiss his foot and sneakily slip the ring off his toe. Of course, players will have to kiss a goblin's foot, so perhaps combat is preferable.

10 Ring Of Colour Spray

Access To The Level One Illusion Spell, Colour Spray

Baldur's Gate 3, Harpy Nest In Secluded Cove
  • Location: Secluded Cove
  • Related Quests: Investigate The Beach
  • Use: Colour Spray, Level One Illusion Spell, blinds creatures up to a combined 33 hit points

This ring can be found relatively early in the game, and it is useful enough to make it worth grabbing. In the Druid Grove, players can make their way to the Secluded Cove, where a tiefling boy called Mirkon is being lured by harpies.

After defeating the harpies, players can make their way down the cove and climb up to the harpy's nest. This is where players will find the Ring Of Colour Spray. It allows its wearer to cast the level-one illusion spell, Colour Spray, which can be very useful in combat.

9 The Sparkswall

Grants Resistance To Lightning Damage And Has Some Lovely Lore

Baldur's Gate 3, Arcane Tower Basement
  • Location: Arcane Tower
  • Related Quests: Help Omeluum Investigate The Parasite
  • Use: Resistance to lightning damage

Found in the Arcane Tower within the Underdark, this ring has some lovely lore attached to its existence. While wearing The Sparkswall, characters have resistance to lightning damage and cannot be electrocuted. It's a helpful ring to have, crafted by Lenore, the cleric who lived in the Arcane Tower, and Yrre, a gnome inventor.

To obtain The Sparkswall, players need another ring found in the Arcane Tower. By defeating or befriending Bernard at the very top of the tower, players can get the Guiding Light ring. While this ring doesn't make it onto the list itself, since it grants players the fairly common Light cantrip, players must wear it on the lift to reveal the button to the Arcane Tower basement. This is where players will find The Sparkswall.

8 Fetish Of Callarduran Smoothhands

Rare Ring Allows Players To Cast Invisibility

Baldur's Gate 3 Duergar
  • Location: Grymforge
  • Related Quests: Free True Soul Nere, Save The Grymforge Gnomes
  • Use: Invisibility, Level Two Illusion Spell, Rare Ring

This oddly named ring can be found on the body of a gnome in Grymforge. A pair of duergar are kicking the bodies into the lake but will let players check the bodies for loot. Players must succeed on a sleight of hand check to pocket this ring for themselves, however, as the duergar will attempt to charge them for it if they notice.

It is worth looting, though, as this ring allows the wearer to cast Invisibility, a powerful level-two Illusion spell. This ring is valuable enough that it is considered rare.

7 Ring Of Mind-Shielding

Rare Ring Gives Advantage On Saving Throws To Avoid Being Charmed

Baldur's Gate 3 Omeluum
  • Location: Ebonlake Grotto
  • Related Quests: Help Omeluum Investigate The Parasite
  • Use: Rare Ring, advantage on saving throws against being charmed

Another rare ring, obtaining this ring requires completing the 'Help Omeluum Investigate The Parasite' quest. This involves a visit to the Arcane Tower, where players can also pick up The Sparkswall and Guiding Light rings, to collect Tongue Of Madness and Timmask Spore fungi.

Return these to Omeluum to complete the quest, and he will mention this ring to the players, although he is loath to hand it over for free. He offers the ring as protection against the Absolute's influence since the ring offers its wearer advantage on saving throws to avoid being Charmed.

6 Bracing Band

Grants Wearers A +1 Bonus To AC After Shoving An Enemy

Baldur's Gate 3, Thulla
  • Location: Grymforge
  • Related Quests: Find The Missing Boots
  • Use: +1 bonus to armor class after taking the "shove" action

The Bracing Band is a particularly fun ring for Barbarians and other strength-based characters, and it is also obtained within the Underdark. During their time wandering among the fungi of the Underdark, players may stumble across a quest to return Sergeant Thrinn's boots. Should they choose to hand the boots back to Sergeant Thrinn, she will reward them with the Bracing Band.

Act two of Baldur's Gate 3 raises the stakes from the first act. These missable encounters are worth experiencing before the third and final act.

The Bracing Band gives its wearer a +1 bonus to their armor class after shoving an enemy. Since shoving can be used quite frequently in Baldur's Gate 3, be it to shove enemies off ledges, clear some space, or just because players have a bonus action to spare, players may find that this ring frequently assists with their defense.

5 Ring Of Flinging

1d4 Bonus To Throwing Damage

Baldur's Gate 3 Arron
  • Location: Druid's Grove
  • Related Quests: N/A
  • Use: 1d4 bonus to throw damage

As with the Bracing Band, barbarians, particularly those of the Berserker subclass, are likely to enjoy the Ring Of Flinging. As its name may suggest, this ring gives its wearer a 1d4 bonus to throw damage. Be it throwing enemies off cliffs, throwing random objects at them, or even throwing them at each other, the hilarious attacks are suddenly even more effective.

To add to the simple beauty of the Ring Of Flinging, it is really easy to obtain. Players can purchase it or steal it by interacting with the trader, Arron, in the Druid Camp. It isn't wildly expensive, either, so players should be able to get it quite early into the game.

4 Ring Of Protection

Rare Ring Grants Wearer +1 To AC And Saving Throws

Baldur's Gate 3 Mol
  • Location: Druid's Grove
  • Related Quests: Steal The Sacred Idol
  • Use: Rare Ring, +1 bonus to armor class and saving throws

The Ring Of Protection is offered as a reward for a tough task. In the Druid Grove, the tiefling child rogue, Mol, can task the player with stealing the druids' Idol Of Silvanus and putting an end to The Rite Of Thorns.

Should players succeed at this, Mol will reward them with the rare Ring Of Protection. The Ring Of Protection offers its wearer a +1 bonus to armor class and saving throws, providing some serious protection. It is a powerful reward for a tough and fulfilling quest.

3 Caustic Band

Adds 2 Acid Damage To Weapon Attacks

derryth
  • Location: Ebonlake Grotto
  • Related Quests: Find The Mushroom Picker
  • Use: Adds 2 acid damage to weapon attacks

The Caustic Band is a simple, no-nonsense, but highly useful ring. Obtaining the band doesn't require as much effort as a lot of the rings on the list. It can be stolen or purchased for a small price from Derryth, a trader located in the Myconid Colony.

The caustic band is useful for any characters that frequently use weapons. It infuses weapon attacks with acid, dealing 2 acid damage with every weapon attack. Its beauty is in its simplicity, as a guaranteed minimum of 2 damage on every weapon attack can quickly stack up to drastically increase damage output.

2 Ring Of Absolute Force

Grants Access To The Thunderwave Spell With Additional Benefits For Branded Characters

Baldur's Gate 3, Sergeant Thrinn
  • Location: Grymforge
  • Related Quests: Deliver Nere's Head
  • Use: Thunderwave, Level One Evocation Spell, 2d8 thunder damage (constitution save to halve), and pushes back targets, characters with the Absolute's brand deal an additional 1 thunder damage whenever they deal this damage type

Another ring on the list courtesy of Sergeant Thrinn, this ring can be looted from her. It is useful to any character that doesn't already have the Thunderwave spell, which it grants access to. Thunderwave may only be a level-one Evocation spell, but it is a must-have. It has a decent damage output, but its huge bonus is that it can be used to send multiple enemies flying backward. Whether players use this to clear a bit of space or to send enemies flying into bottomless chasms, Thunderwave has so many applications, and Ring Of Absolute Force opens the spell up to anyone.

Cloaks may be somewhat overlooked in Baldur's Gate 3, but these choices can offer some decent benefits - or at least a few style points.

There is also an interesting narrative mechanic surrounding the Ring Of Absolute Force. If players choose to get branded at the goblin camp, they will receive an additional benefit from the ring, as branded wielders deal an extra 1 thunder damage each time they deal thunder damage.

1 Ring Of Salving

Wearer Heals An Additional 2HP With Each Heal

Baldur's Gate 3 Shadowheart
  • Location: Ebonlake Grotto
  • Related Quests: Help Omeluum Investigate The Parasite
  • Use: Heals an additional 2 hit points each time the wearer heals someone

The final ring on the list doesn't seem like anything special, but it can be a lifesaver. As with the Ring Of Mind-Shielding, this ring can be purchased from Omeluum.

The Ring Of Salving allows its wearer to heal an additional 2 hit points each time they heal a creature. This makes the ring perfect for the party healer. While it is really simple to obtain and its effect doesn't sound like anything special, 2 hit points can mean the difference between life and death in combat, making it an absolute must-have.
