10 Mass Restoration

Heals All Allies Within Range For 1D4 + 4

Baldur's Gate 3 Bard and Paladin Multiclass

It's common to multiclass a character into Bard or Cleric just to get this very handy spell. Mass Restoration comes in scroll form, although this is hard to find. Another way to get the spell is by equipping the Amulet of Restoration, which is available from Derryth Bonecloak in the Underdark.

What makes this healing spell better than others is that it can heal up to six of one's allies without the bother of having to select them. This is handy in fights that include friendly NPCs because the spell heals everyone in a 60-foot range, not just the player's companions.

9 Cure Wounds

Heals A Single Target For 1D8 + 4

A classic spell that has a long history in both the BG franchise and D&D in general, Cure Wounds is the Level 1 healing spell that all Druids, Clerics, and Paladins get, even if they don't have a healing build. Support classes like Rangers and Bards also have this spell in their repertoire.

Wondering what class to play in Baldur's Gate 3? Here's a recommendation from the stars.

The spell restores 1d8 of the target's hit points plus the spellcasting modifier. It doesn't work on undead creatures or constructs, like golems, which don't have hit points.

8 Goodberry

Each Restores 1D4 Hit Points

This one isn't exactly a healing spell itself; it can be used to conjure food that players can then use for healing. Consuming a Goodberry generated by this spell restores 1d4 hit points and can be used by any class in or outside of combat.

Only the classes of Druids and Rangers can cast this spell, which they have access to from Level 1. They can cast it on themselves or another player, and the berries will appear in their inventory, lasting until the character's next long rest.

7 Aid

Heals The Target For 10 HP And Gives Them 10 Additional Hit Points

It's handy to share healing skills as much as possible in case the dedicated healer gets lost or incapacitated. Aid is a Level 3 Abjuration spell that any casting class can use. It can also be obtained through the use of the enchanted trinket, the Absolute's Talisman, which has a bonus ability for those who have been branded by Priestess Gut.

The caster uses this spell on themselves, but it has an additional beneficial effect on every ally of theirs within a 9-meter radius. It restores a few hit points, depending on the caster's level, and increases the hit point capacity of every character affected.

6 Healing Radiance

Restores Hit Points Equal To Spell Proficiency Bonus, Paladin Level, And Charisma Modifier

The name itself sounds like a Paladin's spell, and that's because it is. Healing Radiance is a healing over time (HoT) ability that can also heal more than one target. It's a powerful spell that is limited to Paladins who have sworn their fealty to the Oath of the Ancients and one of the few mass-healing spells available in Baldur's Gate 3.

Why You Should Play a Paladin in Baldur's Gate 3

In Baldur's Gate 3, the Paladin class is perhaps most defined by the temptation of power and the duty of their Oath, making them compelling to play.

Healing Radiance restores 5 hit points to everyone within visual range of the caster and then restores 5 more on their next turn. The spell can be used anytime, so it can turn the tables in a close fight or prepare the party for an ambush in the wilderness.

5 Healing Word

Restores 1D4 Hit Points For One Target

This is a spell that Clerics of every Domain will have, even if they aren't built as a party's healer. Bards and Druids also have access to this basic healing spell, which is available at Level 1 and is equally handy for the party's dedicated healer or a supporting character.

Healing Word works on a single target, which means the caster can also use it on themselves or any creature within 18m of their position. It restores 1d4 hit points unless the target is an undead creature or a magical construct.

4 Lay On Hands

Cures The Target Of Disease And Poisons And Restores 4 Hit Points

This Paladin spell has varying effects depending on the version of the game being played. Lay On Hands in BG3 doesn't only restore hit points; it also performs an equally important function of removing any poison or disease from a target.

Baldur's Gate 3: Best Paladin Class Build

The best Paladin build in BG3 is hard to nail down, but players who want to double as a bruiser and support should follow this guide.

The spell can be used in or out of combat, so it's just as effective against poisoned apples or old mushrooms as it is against spells or poison effects. As the Paladin reaches higher levels, this spell restores more hit points.

3 Prayer Of Healing

Restores 2D8 Hit Points To Allies Within Visual Range

The Prayer of Healing spell in Baldur's Gate 3

A mass healing spell that can only be used by Clerics, Prayer of Healing restores 2d8 hit points to every character within visual range of the caster. It can only be used outside of combat, so it's more about recuperating after a fight is complete, especially if another battle is imminent.

After Level 3 or higher, the caster can heal another additional target for 1d8 for every spell slot level they have above Level 2. Even if the healer only has two or three extra slots, that's still a powerful spell.

2 Second Wind

Restores 1D10 + Character Level

second wind fighter ability bg3

Even roles that specialize in physical damage need some healing abilities, and Second Wind is the one that Fighters get from Level 1. This class has a lot of stamina, and those using it can use this ability as a bonus action, healing themselves for 1d10 plus their Fighter level.

Using this ability counts as an Action, so the Fighter can use the Action Surge ability, which grants them an extra action for a turn to give themselves some quick healing in combat. It's ideal for when the healer is either down, incapacitated, or out of the line of sight.

1 Lesser Restoration

Cure A Target From A Variety Of Conditions

baldurs-gate-3-vampire-astarion-feed

Lesser Restoration is a spell that most healing classes can access, including Bards and Rangers. It doesn't restore hit points, but it's one of the best ways to remove any number of pesky, long-term conditions that can limit a character's skills and abilities.

These can include but are not limited to disease, poison, paralysis, and blindness. Often, these conditions only last until the character's next Long Rest, but that can take a decent amount of time. For those hoping to improve their relationship with Astarion by letting him feed on them, this spell can also cure the Bloodless condition.
