Baldur's Gate 3 is an extensive game, even for RPG standards. As a result, there are tons of items for players to collect and interact with while they progress throughout their adventure. As there are a multitude of companions, most of which are different classes, these items can be crucial to a build.

Of course, being an RPG, there are stats players can invest in with their own character and their companions. Items that relate to the needed stat of a class are incredibly valuable, whether due to powerful beneficial effects or increasing said stat outright. Wisdom is one such stat, important for a few classes, and items that help wisdom should be sought out to become more powerful.

6 Sylvan Scimitar

Utilizes The Spellcasting Ability Modifier Of The User

  • Jaheira comes equipped with the weapon.

Every class in the game has the ability to use other elements of other classes, whether that's melee, ranged, or magic. Druids, most notably brought forth by Jaheira, can use a combination of magical and melee attacks. They might not specialize in melee as much as other similar-oriented classes, but they nonetheless still have the option.

The Sylvan Scimitar can be a useful tool for melee combat with druids, as it uses the spellcasting ability modifier of the wielder for their attack roll bonus. Druids are one of the classes to use wisdom as their spellcasting ability modifier, making the Sylvan Scimitar valuable for any melee damage dealt.

5 Boots Of Uninhibited Kushigo

Utilizes The Wisdom Modifier Of The User For Their Unarmed Attacks

Out of the various classes in Baldur's Gate 3, monks have achieved the most notoriety for how overpowered they can be. With certain feats and items, they can demolish enemies with ease. One of the stats they use is wisdom, primarily for their spellcasting, but also for their manifestation abilities.

In Baldur's Gate 3, choosing the best feats for Monks is essential for an optimal playthrough. Here are the ones that players should prioritize.

The Manifestation of Body, Mind, and Soul abilities grants bonus necrotic, psychic, or radiant damage to unarmed attacks respectively. The Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo allows users to deal extra damage with unarmed attacks by using their wisdom modifier, making monks able to deal even more damage than they already would.

4 Khalid's Gift

Increases Wisdom By +1

  • Found in Jaheira's basement.

Any items that increase ability scores by any amount are going to be some of the most sought-after. Khalid's Gift is one such item, letting users improve their wisdom by +1, but only to a maximum of 21, even though the stat can be set higher with additional boons.

As well as the +1 improvement to wisdom, while Jaheira wears the item, she cannot get cursed. Jaheira goes in conjuncture with the amulet, given she also uses wisdom on account of being a druid. Furthermore, the item also allows users to heal themselves via Khalid's Gift: Aid ability, giving wielders a good number of effects to utilize.

3 Necromancy Of Thay

Increases Wisdom Saving Throws And Ability Checks, And Can Be Used To Gain A +2 Bonus To Any Stat Via The Mirror Of Loss

  • Found In The Apothecary's Cellar Via The Blighted Village.

As is typical of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, players will find various random objects throughout their journey in Baldur's Gate 3. The Necromancy of Thay is an evil book found in the first act that stays until the final act, where players can receive different bonuses.

Adventurers looking to dip into Necromancy in Baldur's Gate 3 have these powerful spells at their disposal.

Usually, the tome grants Forbidden Knowledge to the person reading it, improving wisdom saving throws and ability checks by +1. However, in the House of Grief, the Mirror of Loss can improve an ability by +2, with the Necromancy of Thay allowing players to sacrifice Forbidden Knowledge to upgrade an ability, one of which can be wisdom. A +2 bonus to not just wisdom, but any ability, is very powerful, making the Necromancy of Thay a valuable asset.

2 Mirror Of Loss

Found In The House Of Grief

Baldur's Gate 3: How to Find and Use the Mirror Of Loss
  • Able to permanently improve a stat by +2.

As a part of Shadowheart's questline, players will journey to the House of Grief in which they can find the Mirror of Loss. Behind some dialogue checks that can be initially confusing, a character can gain a permanent boost to a chosen stat by +2.

Obviously, increasing a stat by +2 is highly desired, with wisdom being one such that can be chosen. The Necromancy of Thay book can also be used to obtain a stat boost, but it can also be done without it. Players might need to use some items to increase the success of ability checks and/or save scum to obtain the +2 improvement.

1 Auntie Ethel's Hair

Given By Auntie Ethel After Certain Dialogue Choices In Her Bossfight

Baldur's Gate 3 Auntie Ethel's Hair on the floor
  • Can improve a desired stat by +1.

Any way to improve the wisdom ability score is going to be extremely valuable for players to obtain. Auntie Ethel's Hair does just that; allocating an extra +1 to any ability the player wants, not just wisdom.

It can be a little awkward to achieve, but Auntie Ethel must be brought down to 20% health with non-lethal damage turned on, which she will beg for her life. Certain dialogue options then will lead to her giving players her hair. The strength of the item is how early it can be obtained. Ethel can be fought in the first act, immediately after the prologue if players wish to do so. Having a permanent +1 upgrade to the wisdom ability score so early in the game makes for an extremely valuable item.
