Backpack Battles: How To Get Spectral Dagger

If you're looking for a magical weapon in Backpack Battles that deals decent damage and penetrates enemy armor, here's how to get the Spectral Dagger.

The Reaper, in particular, can be quite strong and has several builds available for them. These are just some of the most powerful Reaper builds, but due to the nature of Backpack Battles and the randomness involved, these builds can be experimented with.

1 Poison Vampire

Solid Damage And Sustainability

Backpack Battles - Reaper gameplay

This combination of Poison and Vampirism is tough to pull off but can result in an equal measure of damage and defense. However, this requires players to not only get hold of a heart container or two but both the Hungry Blade (preferably Bloodthorne, which can be crafted with the Hungry Blade and the Thorn Whip) and Poison Goobert.

Elevate your ordinary spear to a Godly weapon by transforming it into the Holy Spear in Backpack Battle. Here is how to get this item in the game.

This build also doesn't really work without the Death Scythe, and there's a good chance that players won't find that item in the shop. To hold out until this item shows up, players can invest in a Spiked Shield and/or a Cap Of Resilience early on, which dramatically improves survivability in the late game. The Cap Of Resilience will also reduce the risk of being stun-locked in the first few seconds of combat.

2 House Of Cards

A Slow-Burning Build

Backpack Battles - Reaper gameplay

This build is relatively precarious, leaving little room for error. Players will have to ensure they reach the mid-game with minimal health loss, as many of the Playing Cards scale as players build longer chains of cards. This build leaves very little room for other items, as every card needs to be perfectly placed to maintain the chain. This also makes it fairly difficult to manage the backpack, as the card chains can leave players with an awkward amount of room.

There's also the obvious caveat that this build relies solely on the Deck Of Cards. However, having a solid weapon is a necessity, such as the Bloodthorne, which can take full advantage of the potential Regeneration from The Lovers card. The best subclass for this build is arguably Mr. Struggles, which offers valuable Plushies and inflicts Fatigue damage that can help increase the otherwise low DPS of the build.

3 Pet Venom

A Combination Of High Damage And Supportive Pets

Backpack Battles - Reaper gameplay

This build revolves around several items, with the main goal being to build around Poison Gooberts and the Snake subclass. The Snake helps to prevent enemies from cleansing Poison stacks, as well as inflicting Poison itself. Although the Snake's effect is based on Luck, it grants the player bonus Luck (and maximum health) based on adjacent pets. Obtaining a Customer Card to increase the chance of finding Fly Agarics is important, as they are a key ingredient for creating the Poison Goobert.

Weapon-wise, the Death Scythe is an obvious choice, if it shows. Failing that, a Hammer and a poison dagger work well, but players should aim for a second Poison Goobert to make the most of the Snake. Any fast-attacking weapon works well with the Gooberts, so the Attack Claws in particular are great when combined with a semi-Spike build, as well as any items that boost attack speed.

4 Witch's Cauldron

Strong Early-Game And Potion Synergy

Backpack Battles - Reaper gameplay

This Reaper build is one of the easiest to pull off. All players need to do is gather as much food as possible, and a frying pan or two. This is relatively easy to do in the early game and can help players sustain themselves until they find/craft stronger items. Blueberries in particular should be prioritized here, as they take up only one slot (making them easy to fit around Eggscalibur and the Cauldron), and they also generate Mana that the Eggscalibur can take advantage of to trigger its effect.

This build plays heavily around the Cauldron, an item that upgrades adjacent potions and generates healing, Mana, or Heat. The Cauldron also triggers faster with adjacent food, so building an Eggscalibur nearby and weaving food items between the two can result in a powerful combination.

5 Hammer-Daggers

Permanent Stun With Massive Damage

Backpack Battles - Reaper gameplay

This is the easiest and arguably one of the most broken builds in Backpack Battles, revolving heavily around a combination of Daggers and Hammers. The Daggers trigger extra attacks on stun, and the Hammers have a 50% chance to stun enemies when hit. When players combine as many Daggers as they can find with an equal number of Pestilence Flasks, they're left with an abundance of Poison Daggers that can all potentially trigger twice. If players can muster enough Stamina to wield two Hammers, this build can result in simply too many stacks of Poison for opponents to handle.

However, reaching this level of power can be a difficult task. Because this build relies on stunning opponents, the Hammer is a necessary item. Furthermore, the 50% chance to stun opponents isn't the most reliable, so having two Hammers is ideal. Taking the Cursed Dagger as a subclass ties this build together. The Cursed Dagger boosts weapon Accuracy, so placing it adjacent to Hammers increases the chances of a successful hit and, therefore, a successful stun.
