In a recent announcement, the people over at Turtle Rock Studios teased what the new maps look like for Back 4 Blood's third expansion, called "River of Blood." When it is released on all platforms, the DLC will include more than just maps for the Back 4 Blood player base to explore. The teaser for the five maps for the third expansion of Back 4 Blood comes straight from the second expansion, Children of the Worm. The DLC was met with a mixed reception, as the player base seems split on whether they enjoyed it or not. However, the game in its current state, compared to when it first launched, is in a much better place due to the developers listening to what the fans want to see in it, and the player base is enjoying the game a lot more now compared to when it released with a less-than-satisfactory launch of Back 4 Blood.RELATED: New Back 4 Blood DLC "River of Blood" Coming DecemberAll five maps were tweeted from the game's official Twitter account with a brief screenshot of what each map looks like and the design theme they are going for. The maps each have a distinctive and unique look to them, which is something players should enjoy as it adds variety to the DLC. Furthermore, each map appears to follow a more vibrant color theme, with a few screenshots displaying overgrown exotic nature, a design path the team has yet to take with DLC maps when compared to previous DLC for Back 4 Blood like Children of the Worm, which went for a much darker tone and design theme for its maps.

The new maps and additions that will feature in the River of Blood expansion DLC will be available in Back 4 Blood on December 6. However, the DLC will include many more additions for players to enjoy. River of Blood will include a new main story as the game's sixth act. There's also a new Cleaner. She goes by the name of Tala and is a former cultist outcast turned Cleaner. Tala can also summon a friendly ally by the name of Jeff, who will aid her in combat when needed.

Furthermore, the DLC will also feature new skins for existing characters and new cosmetics for weapons. The DLC also comes with brand-new weapons for players to utilize, accessories for players to use, and cards for players to create fun and interesting builds that can make the game easier or harder if the players want, depending on the selected cards. In addition to all of that, the DLC will drop alongside a free update for Back 4 Blood that will bring a new cooperative PvE mode for players, in which they earn supply points while determining a path down a four-map chain known as "Trial of the Worm." Best of all, players can jump in for free if they have a Game Pass subscription during this time.

Back 4 Blood: River of Blood will be available on December 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
