Acclaimed action studio Platinum Games will soon be releasing Babylon's Fall, an action hack and slash-RPG hybrid produced by Square Enix. Players take on the role of a Sentinel, where they must scale a giant tower known as the Ziggurat. Unlike other titles from PlatinumGames, this game allows both single-player and multiplayer modes, where players can either take on quests alone or with three other players. As one progresses through the tower, they will receive loot which can help strengthen the characters they are playing as.

Babylon's Fall received a demo recently, where players can test drive the combat and fight their way through the levels of the Ziggurat's enemy infested tower. The game offers five different weapon types, which encourages teamwork with other players to get the best loot and gear. With this focus on teamwork and continuous play, Babylon's Fall is adopting a "games as a service" model that is implemented in games like Destiny. With this in mind, the first season of content for the game will be adding a limited time Nier: Automata collaboration event.

The contents of the event are supervised by creative director Yoko Taro and designer Takahisa Taura, where players can earn outfits that deck them in the same costumes of Nier: Automata's characters. A trailer showing Babylon Fall's first season of content highlights the fact that the costumes will be based on some of its iconic characters, such as 2B, 9S, A2, Commander White, and more.

The trailer also shows that other areas of the game in Babylon's Fall will also be affected by the crossover event. This includes the base where players can gather, along with themed quests based on Nier: Automata. The enemies that players face in the dungeons that they are tackling will also be changed, where they are replaced with the robotic enemies seen in the circus level of Nier: Automata. Even the castle from the circus level can also be seen in the background when players are facing the bigger boss enemies.

This collaboration comes as no surprise, considering that Babylon's Fall combat is designed as an expansion of PlatinumGames' work on Nier: Automata, which was also produced by Square Enix. Other parts of Babylon Fall's first season was also shown off in this trailer, including new game modes, a new faction, and story-related quests. It's currently unknown when this collaboration event will kick off and how long it will last, but fans of both Babylon's Fall and Nier: Automata might want to keep an eye out for these limited time costumes.

Babylon's Fall will launch for PC, PS4, and PS5 on March 3, 2022.
