Babylon's Fall contains a crafting mechanic, as is typical for this genre of game. For whatever reason, though, the player is unable to begin this crafting until fairly well into the missions. It's odd given its importance mechanically, as crafting can open a lot of doors.

Babylon's Fall allows the player to use Ishum's forge after completing the Volcanic Cloister, which is the third cloister the player will need to traverse through. After completing it, the player will need to go to Ishum and begin a dialogue to open the forge tutorial, which will give the basics on materials and recycling.

The player should have quite a collection of materials at this point, so when they get the tutorial, they should be able to start crafting right away. The player may note that they need blueprints in order to craft certain items. These can be found in either the Conch Store at Pygmalion, or they can be garnered from adventuring through the Ziggurat.

In order for the player to get access to more powerful weapons and armor, they will need to increase their Power Level, as any blueprint that they craft will produce a weapon that is slightly above the player's Power Level. In this way, the player should not need to worry about their blueprints becoming outdated while they are out collecting, as they will always provide relevant statistics in relation to the player.

Crafting

Players can craft all sorts of items from Ishum, including weapons and armor. The source where the player finds the blueprints, be that the store or from adventuring, will determine those blueprints' rarity. Most blueprints that the player gets from the store will be blue rarity, with purple being found more often in the wild.

One helpful mechanic in the forge is the ability to add blueprints to a wishlist. This allows the player can keep track of the gear that they want to produce, without the need to scroll all the way through the menus. This is useful if the player cannot afford a specific blueprint at that moment: they can just save it to the wishlist and then come back to it later.

Recycling

Equipment that the player gets from out in the world can also be recycled to get more materials. Considering how easy it is to make Conches, players are encouraged to recycle their unused gear instead of selling it, so that they can gain material to produce higher quality equipment.

This should save the player a lot of headaches when it comes to feeling underleveled. Instead of grinding out a level for experience, the player can simply recycle their unwanted loot and put it towards something more useful.

Babylon's Fall is now available for PS4, PS5, and PC.
