Sadistic experimentation as a child and surviving in seedy circles throughout the galaxy make her one of the more intense party members. That's an impression she owns without hesitation. Those who look past these aspects see the emotional fragility in her damaged upbringing. As a result, Jack is both intriguing in her depth and entertaining in her lack of filter.
5 Vi - League of Legends
Vi is similar to Jack in that she grew up in the underworld, namely as a thief on the city streets. The rough atmosphere of Zaun and her time in prison make her a formidable brawler in League of Legends, and she reflects this in her design.
This crook has a makeshift look. Her wardrobe consists of mismatched clothing that she probably just threw on, and her hair is a disheveled mess. The only stylistic touch is the one-sided buzz cut, which reinforces her asymmetrical appearance. She doesn't care about looking nice; she just uses what she has. You have to appreciate practicality.
4 Sayla - Far Cry Primal
Sayla is among the more striking cavepeople in the prehistoricFar Cry title. She has a buzz cut, but only in the front. The rest of her head has long locks all tied back in a ponytail. This echoes the setting's tribal style while being simultaneously unique from its other inhabitants.
This is fitting since Sayla is the first character whom the hero encounters after his opening beatdown. It's her boundless determination and ingenuity that inspire him to rebuild and strike back. The person carrying such significance should stand out visually as much as she does in the script.
3 Vivienne - Dragon Age: Inquisition
This woman is unique from other Dragon Age heroes in that she epitomizes the high and mighty image associated with mages. What's more is that she embraces that image like a toy, covering her hairless dome with extravagant decorations and headdresses. One has to admire that ability to wield shallowness as a weapon.
That skill comes into play when Vivienne guides players through a covert mission at an imperial ball. She's clearly an old hand at such gatherings, mingling and manipulating each interaction to her fancy. It's impressive how natural she is at this political game. Because of that, however, fans must always stay on their toes. They never know when she'll throw them into the deep end. Then again, people love a wild card, and Vivienne fills that role beautifully.
2 Judy Alvarez - Cyberpunk 2077
The sly Braindance artist of Cyberpunk 2077 has the same practicality as Vi. She wears a tank top with loose-fitting overalls, and a one-sided buzz cut gets the rest of her hair out of her eyes when needed. This style seems overzealous...until players look around.
Judy is relatively tame compared to Night City's other residents. Most of them cover themselves in cybernetic attachments, plastic surgeries, and colorful clothing that would make a pop star blush. Judy's appearance is noticeably more reserved, which is appropriate. After the constant chaos and loss, she grows disillusioned with Night City and its habit of sapping one's humanity. That pathos can be a valuable avenue to keep V emotionally grounded, offering a refreshing reprieve from the flamboyant freaks.
1 Cere Junda - Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
The haircut is a classic move for fugitives in storytelling, Star Wars included. Cere was once a Jedi Master with elegant locks. After the Empire massacres her sacred order, however, she goes on the run. Jedi robes give way to a Han Solo-esque smuggler outfit and a huge haircut.
These changes convey a no-nonsense attitude, which is an accurate summation of Cere's character. She's fiercely driven to rebuild what the Empire destroyed. Because of that, she keeps it simple and wastes little time with decorations. Instead, her appearance immediately gets people's attention. It's also thematically resonant as she sheds her benevolent, relaxed demeanor for a more intense outlook. In the end, Jedi Fallen Order reaffirms how a simple stylistic choice can carry immense weight and tragedy.
