Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is one of the most secretive Marvel Studios films. Nearly nothing is known about the movie, and wild rumors abound. However, fans might have gotten a hint at Tenoch Huerta's return as Namor from screenwriter Jeff Loveness.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is the fifth film under the Avengers banner. Jonathan Majors' Kang is set to be the film's villain, but his plans are unknown. Majors' Kang differs from Thanos in many ways, but his methods are just as brutal, and he may even be a bigger threat. The Avengers will, of course, rise to the challenge, but who may be on the roster has been fodder for speculation.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Loveness was asked what he's excited to write about in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. "Namor, man," Loveness answered. "I'm excited to write Namor." Later in the interview, Loveness also said that he hoped to bring in more of a comic book sensibility when writing Avengers:The Kang Dynasty. "But I think Avenger comics are really cool," Loveness said. "Because literally every issue opens with that credo of, 'And there came a day unlike any other.' And so the impetus of an Avengers movie or story is like, this is a day where we need these guys, and this is a threat that we cannot handle alone. And this is a seismic shift in the world. This is a generational event. And our old generation is gone or retired or scattered. So it compels a new generation to step up."

Loveness also wrote Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which featured plenty of Kang. The crew behind the film has already shared some scary foreshadowing of Kang's future, and with Loveness behind Avengers:The Kang Dynasty, he'll likely deliver. There's an ominous post-credit scene in Quantumania in which it's seen that the Council of Kangs is ready to put their plan into motion, and incursions are soon to come.

Kang is one character Namor should face off against. Kang's moniker is "The Conqueror," and Namor has shown an all-consuming hatred for those who seek to conquer. When Namor was last seen, the character was technically defeated, but it didn't seem like he had abandoned his old views.

The MCU's version of Namor quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to Huerta's powerful performance, and it makes sense that he'll return in what's anticipated to be one of their biggest films. Meanwhile, Majors has become a fan-favorite for his performance as Kang. Should the two interact on screen, audiences will probably be endlessly entertained.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
