The Avengers and Justice League are the latest subjects of AI photos, with a new collection of images offering fans a look at what it might have looked like had MCU actors joined DC instead of Marvel Studios.

The Avengers films and those building up to them are generally regarded as successful and mostly well-received, partly thanks to the ensemble cast Marvel Studios assembled for the beloved superhero roles. While the DC Extended Universe movies were arguably less successful overall, the cast still has a passionate fanbase, with many people clamoring to see fan-favorites like Henry Cavill's Superman and Ray Fisher's Cyborg return despite Warner Bros. rebooting the franchise.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the MCU or the DCEU, Supercosplaylover shared new AI-generated images created with BlueWillow in Discord that imagine an alternate reality where Marvel stars play DC superheroes. The DC roles for the actors mirror who they play in the MCU. Instead of playing the noble and selfless Captain America, the AI photos depict Chris Evans as the equally heroic Superman. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. trades the high-tech Iron Man suit of billionaire Tony Stark for the high-tech Batman suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne. Appropriately, Tom Holland is depicted as Batman's young ward Robin, similar to the role Spider-Man played to Tony Stark in the MCU.

Also included are Scarlett Johansson as Wonder Woman instead of Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Aquaman instead of Thor, Jeremy Renner as Green Arrow instead of Hawkeye, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as The Flash instead of Quicksilver, and Elizabeth Olsen as Zatanna instead of Scarlet Witch. A second post features Tom Hiddleston as the Joker, Chris Pratt as Green Lantern, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson as Supergirl, Karen Gillan as Batgirl instead of Nebula, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Fate instead of Doctor Strange, and Paul Bettany as Martian Manhunter instead of Vision. While fun to see, the comments sections on both posts are filled with users who argue that several cast members in the AI-generated images don't even look like themselves in real life.

Nevertheless, these AI-generated images are harmless fun for fans who want to imagine what could have been. After all, it's not like Marvel or DC films are having the best time recently. Ant-Man 3 was a box office disaster for Marvel Studios, and DC also floundered with Shazam 2. Warner Bros. was already well into developing James Gunn's new DC Universe; Disney and Marvel Studios are reportedly slowing down the rollout of their upcoming MCU projects to ensure quality over quantity. So, hopefully, better days are ahead for DC and Marvel movies.

The Avengers films are available on Disney Plus.
