About Rahat Haque
Rahat Haque is an avid gamer, with a particular passion for gaming's history. As a child of the 90s, his interests include all things made popular during this time, whether it be games, anime, or collectible toys. A fan of physical media, he is notorious for having an extensive backlog, and instead uses his shelves to showcase his collection. After dabbling with his own video game podcasting, Rahat took the next step and began to build a personal portfolio of game reviews and industry features.
Favorite Games
Star Fox 64 was my first love, as a game with a dynamic story and full voice over work just seemed like such magic for its time. This became the advent for my main interest in narrative driven single player games, with the likes of Shenmue 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Dishonored being among the top of my pantheon.
Halo 2 also makes the list, not just for its story, but the hooks it implanted on all gamers subscribed to the first iteration of Xbox Live.
Favorite Console
Though starting officially with ownership of an N64, I have a soft spot for the generation that includes Nintendo's Gamecube, Microsoft's original Xbox, and the Game Boy Advance.
Favorite Movies
When it comes to films, a good barometer is whether you will stop in your tracks and begin a watch simply because it is on. Such is the case for any film in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, especially if they're the extended cuts!
The Dark Knight also fits this bill, having revolutionized film adaptation of a comic property.
When the beloved, and criminally underrated, Firefly series got cancelled, it appeared closure for the great cast of characters was out of sight. That changed with Serenity in 2005, a fun-filled send-off for the sci-fi franchise.
Lion is another cult favorite of mine, a film based on the best selling book and starring the always impressive Dev Patel.
