6 His Eye Color Changed After Inheriting The Attack Titan
One notable thing about Grisha's appearance pertains to the color of his eyes. Before getting the powers of the Attack Titan, Grisha's eyes had a notably dark color. This changed after his encounter with Eren Kruger, when the color of his eyes had become lighter instead.
This is rather interesting, since Eren's eye color never changed even after getting the powers of both the Attack Titan and Founding Titan. No explanation has been given Grisha's change in eye color, and it's possible that this change in eye color only affected Grisha and isn't a regular occurrence. After all, Armin's eyes also remained the same color after he became the Colossal Titan!
5 His Argument About The Titans' Benefits To Humanity Is Fallible
For a long time, Grisha has said that Titans were only for the benefit of humanity and should not be treated like villains. This was one of the major reasons why he joined the Eldian Restorationists... only for his plans to be dashed by his own son.
However, a closer look at this argument will reveal just how wrong it really is. The very nature of the Titans is to serve as weapons, with the majority of their names also reflecting as much. While they may be used for the betterment of humanity, it's clear that their main purpose has always been to serve as living weapons of mass destruction.
4 Carla's Loss May Have Prompted Grisha To Give His Power To Eren
After being outed by his own son and watching his wife and friends turn into Titans, Grisha realized that it was his own hubris that led to this chain of events. After gaining a new life within the walls, he swore to be more compassionate and empathetic towards his family and friends.
This is perhaps why Grisha decided to hand Eren the reigns to his destiny upon hearing the news of Carla's death. The popular theory is that Grisha was nearing the end of his 13-year lifespan as a Titan, which is why he gave his powers to Eren.
However, another theory states that Grisha was so torn over the loss of his wife that he decided to entrust the fate of the world to Eren instead. He had simply gone through too much loss in his life, and wanted some peace in death.
3 He Might Have Been Castrated During Torture By Marleyan Forces
After being outed as one of the major Eldian Restorationists, Grisha was brutally tortured by Marleyan soldiers. The fact that his fingers were chopped off was made pretty clear with some gruesome imagery, but there's a far worse bodily appendage that was apparently mutilated during this torture.
According to a comment made by Eren Kruger, it seems that the Marleyans castrated Grisha as well while torturing him. It's absolutely barbaric, and shows just how despicable the nation of Marley is. Thankfully, Grisha grew all of his lost body parts back after getting the regenerative properties of a Titan.
2 Grisha Might Have Purposely Introduced Mikasa To Eren
Just before Eren Kruger gives his power to Grisha, he utters a rather cryptic statement that left fans in a stupor for the longest time. He talks about how Armin and Mikasa need to be saved, before wondering whose memories he was accessing at the time. Later developments in the story have revealed that the minds of both past and future coordinates are linked, leading Kruger to speak these mysterious words.
This could be a major reason why Grisha was absolutely adamant about Mikasa and Eren meeting. After all, he had heard the former's name out of someone else's mouth, and assumed that she would play a major role in the development of his son. He was certainly right.
1 He Is The First In The Modern Era To Hold Two Titan Powers At Once
Most people know the story of Dina Fritz, and how she was the original holder of the Titan powers before they split from her body. However, following this legend, it seems that no person held more than two Titan powers at the same time.
This streak was broken by Grisha, who ended up harboring the powers of both the Attack and Founding Titan within him. Of course, Eren has gone a step beyond and ingested the power of another Titan, turning him into a powerhouse that most people are bound to fear.
