Given Eren's heel turn, it's only a given that he committed a ton of mistakes and had to bear many failures before finally coming into his own as a character and realizing what is the right thing to do...or at least, what is right as per his standards. After gaining his Titan powers, Eren decides to transform and move a boulder to cover one of the holes exposed by the Titans. However, this plan was risky, especially since Eren didn't have proper control over his powers.
After transforming, he ended up lashing out and almost killing Mikasa. It takes a rousing speech from Armin to bring some reason back to the Attack Titan, who ultimately accomplished his goal.
9 Not Transforming The Very Moment The Female Titan Started Hunting Him Down
The Female Titan was one of the first and biggest obstacles in Eren's path that tried to abduct him. The manner in which she hunted down the Survey Corps was quite haunting, with her pursuit of Eren bringing her to the woods as well.
Here, Eren could've chosen to transform into the Attack Titan so that he could fight the Female Titan on equal footing. However, he delayed this decision, which proved to have major consequences.
8 Trusting Levi's Squad To Save Him
There's no denying the fact that Levi and his close-knit squad were a bunch of elites who could take down anyone in their path. However, there was a limit to their skills, and Eren's indecision exposed this.
He trusted the squad to protect him, which turned out to be a bad move since every member of the squad died at the hands of the Female Titan. While he finally transformed after a while, the damage had already been done.

6 Giving Up After Learning Of The True Nature Of His Powers
The arc where the Royal Family showed their true colors was hard to watch at times, for a whole host of reasons. However, Eren's dejected attitude was definitely a source of great annoyance for most viewers.
Watching this headstrong character give up on everything he believed in without a fight was extremely frustrating. Eren was lucky that Historia was thinking things with a clear head and aided in her escape, otherwise, his journey would've been over sooner rather than later.
5 Being Unable To Transform When Facing His Mother's Killer Once Again
During the Survey Corps' attempt to recapture Eren, they ultimately encountered a bunch of Titans, including his mother's murderer. This sent Eren into a bout of rage...but his stamina was simply way too lacking to deal with this threat.
Eren should've used his powers wisely and tried to increase his stamina so that he wouldn't be caught off-guard. Due to his lack of preparedness, the Survey Corps faced many avoidable losses and Hannes became a casualty of the Titans as well.
4 Failing To Understand The Power Of The Founding Titan Early On
The Founding Titan is easily one of the most powerful and mysterious Titans in the show. It's clear that the power of this Titan is on a whole new level, which is why it's frustrating to see just how much Eren has been underutilizing its power.
The latest arc seems to mark a major shift, with the Founding Titan finally taking center stage. However, until Eren makes an effort to learn more about these Titans, it seems that viewers will just be torturously teased yet again.
3 Succumbing To The Cycle Of Hatred Instead Of Fighting Against It
After facing his share of losses and realizing how wasteful war is, most people would've assumed that Eren would be the man to fight against these injustices once again. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, and he ended up reigniting the cycle of hatred yet again.
This is especially grating, given the fact that he had the power of the Founding Titan and had a glimpse into the future. Unfortunately, he didn't fight his fate and brought death and destruction to Marley in a twisted act of revenge.
2 Betraying His Squadmates And Friends
Eren never had the green light from the Survey Corps to unleash such a brutal assault on Marley. However, he'd become so headstrong in his beliefs that he refused to listen to the voice of reason coming from his comrades.
This led to him taking matters into his own hands and forcing the Survey Corps to join the battle as well. It's one thing to be foolhardy on your own, but it's something else altogether to force your friends down a dark path as well.
1 Murdering Innocents In Marley
Perhaps the worst thing about Eren's assault on Marley was the fact that he didn't care what the casualties would be. He killed both innocents and guilty people alike, not even bothering to make this distinction while unleashing death and destruction upon everyone and everything.
It was a jarring moment that showed that Eren had changed for good. He had officially forsaken his moral compass and was now just obsessed with an end goal that sounds quite extreme indeed.
