Skybound Games will be publishing its first Invincible video game some time this year, and it is an interactive visual novel that, surprisingly, will be focusing on the side character Atom Eve. Robert Kirkman, the creator of the Invincible comic series, is also the founder of Skybound, which has published a number of Walking Dead games but will be making this its first Invincible title.

Skybound is a company which has published a number of popular comics and video games under the founder and primary comic author Robert Kirkman. While Kirkman has a number of popular comic titles, from The Walking Dead to Invincible, Outcast, Oblivion Song, and more, the games division of Skybound has really only ever focused on titles within the world of The Walking Dead. That will soon be expanding, however, and the first announcement of a non-TWD title getting a video game is understandably for Invincible.

The full trailer for the upcoming game dropped after its official announcement at an Invincible San Diego Comic Con panel recently. The title is Invincible Presents: Atom Eve and it will be following the titular side character from the popular comic and Amazon series through an interactive visual novel. The trailer mentions that it is based on the Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley comic with Amazon's name not being found anywhere on the promotional material, which seems to suggest that this game exists within the comic's continuity rather than the continuity of the show. The show and comic for Invincible aren't so different, but some things might confuse players who only know the show and go into the game blind.

It seems as though the main hook for this Atom Eve game is the ability for players to be able to make decisions that will affect the overall story, something that is familiar to other Skybound published titles like the Telltale Walking Dead games. This art style for this game looks ripped right out of the Invincible comic, which will likely be appealing to fans who haven't been able to read an issue since it ended back in 2018.

Atom Eve is being published by Skybound but developed by Terrible Posture Games. Terrible Posture previously worked on another Skybound property with The Walking Dead: Last Mile. This continues Skybound being a publisher that seems primarily interested in putting out titles where the gameplay essentially relies on branching story paths based on player choice. It would be interesting to see video games in the future based on other Skybound comic properties like Extremity or Redneck. Hopefully, Atom Eve is the beginning of more variety in Skybound games coming in the future.
