After setting foot in Dublin via the Wrath of the Druids DLC, Assassin's Creed Valhalla players seeking to set forth on quests can find plenty to do in this bustling Irish city. An important one in helping out king Barid, Eivor's cousin, is dealing with the troublesome Thorstein as he sews conflict in Barid's corner of Ireland.

However, gamers can help him out here by tracking down, subduing, and delivering the foe to the king. To begin, players must meet up with prince Sichfrith near the northern docks of Dublin.

Seek Out Sichfrith

where to find the prince to start the quest.

By following the marker, it won't be hard to find prince Sichfrith as he sits at a table where a board game similar to chess is resting. Sadly, one cannot challenge Sichfrith to a game, however, he will share important information.

Someone with a key to Thorstein's secret hideout, one of his lackeys named Ama, can be found enjoying some ale along the river. With this information and a warning not to anger Ama, as she is a mighty warrior, Eivor can set off to acquire this key in order to apprehend Thorstein from his residence.

Meet Ama & Lower Her Guard

Sichfrith gives one a solid lead on where to find Ama, so when one gets within the ballpark of her location, call upon Synin to narrow the searching-area down to a highlighted circle that will illuminate a structure at its center; a simple wooden shack next to a large red ship in the river north of Dublin.

Beneath the roof of this very open building, one will spot a conspicuous-looking woman with white warpaint on her face. This is Ama, though, don't go at her axe-raised, as there is an easier (and arguably more fun) method of getting the key from her.

Being a huge fan of ale, Ama can be very easily persuaded to have a drinking contest with a short conversation. After the player out-drinks her, Ama will stumble off with her bodyguards to walk off the more severe effects of the alcohol.

Follow Ama & Take Steal The Key

following ama undetected and stealing a key from her.

As she leaves, go incognito via a raised hood and follow her. Just be sure to stay back enough to not aggravate her bodyguards. After a short walk, Ama will veer off to the left, down a simple dock, and look out at the gentle waves of the river. Her bodyguards won't follow her and will stand at the land-end of the dock, barring the way.

There are plenty of ways to approach the target from here: around the right side of the bodyguards to sneak upon the dock from the side, around the left of the house by hopping along wooden poles sticking out of the water, or even by scaling the house and climbing down the other side to place oneself behind Ama.

Regardless of the chosen approach, all the player needs to do is get behind Ama on this simple pier and stealthily approach her while she pukes into the river. She'll be far too preoccupied to notice Eivor's dextrous fingers pickpocket the key right off of her body. With the key in hand, the player is free to seek out Thorstein's secret hideout and snare the scumbag.

Finding Thorstein's Hideout & Apprehending Him

thorstein's hideout and him in his lair with his guards.

With the key in hand, Eivor can set out to locate Thorstein's lair from the advice that Sichfrith revealed earlier. It will be a small house located near the water and will be in the center of Synin's helpful visual radius marker. Inside will be a locked metal door, which one will be able to open with the key taken from Ama.

Beyond it, Eivor will descend into Thorstein's hidden base and will spot him hanging out with a few guards. There is no stealth needed here, so go wild and take out the guards. When Thorstein is alone, fight him until he can no longer stand and the rest will be easy; the target is now apprehended and can be brought to king Barid.

Discuss Thorstein's Fate With Barid & Sichfrith

cutscene where eivor gets to choose thorstein's fate.

After delivering the bloody and battered Thorstein to king Barid, a cutscene will play where Eivor, the king, and prince Sichfrith discuss what to do with their captured enemy. However, regardless of the dialogue choice made to the player, Barid's final decision will be the same: mercy.

King Barid will banish Thorstein, but let him keep his life if he does not return. Both Eivor and Sichfrith argue against this, but Barid reminds them that Ireland is split into many petty kingdoms and that Flann Sinna will sort things out when he becomes the high king of Ireland, including thugs and criminals like Thorstein. This is a baffling decision to many, however, the player has done all they can in this quest, as it ends after this cutscene.
