Some of the most mysterious, ominous, and straight-up unnerving parts of Assassin's Creed Valhalla are the areas being afflicted by Cursed Symbols. These sinister hexed objects shroud areas in darkness and are accompanied by ambient sound effects that would not be out of place in a survival horror game.

Of course, there are some Cursed Symbols found in Ireland thanks to the Wrath of the Druids DLC, which feels appropriate given the source of these dark instruments is a more terrifying form of Celtic magic. Some can be avoided, however, the one at Tullagh Laght is a high-priority one to take out, as it obscures an area that overlaps with a Viewpoint and generally just makes it much harder to find things and fight foes.

If one does not fear the darkness or the spine-tingling sounds that emanate from the bewitched skull that is covered in tainted magic, then head northwest of Dublin, to the region of Meath, and keep an eye out for foul fog and an ear out for the telltale ominous ambiance of a Cursed Symbol.

Getting To Tullagh Laght

viewpoint affected by a cursed symbol.

Tullagh Laght is a rocky area with a significant yet simple stone structure spanning a pair of rocky hills. When Eivor first arrives here, in the northernmost part of Meath, the area will be cloaked in an umbral fog, making exploration both difficult and unnerving.

There is a Viewpoint here, however, one won't be able to see much with the Curse Symbol's dank hex clouding the area in a foul miasma. It is always recommended to synchronize a ton of Viewpoints before exploring an area, as doing so automatically makes many of the most important locations appear on the map as well as making them visible to Eivor and Synin.

As there is a lot of hill-climbing, in addition to many nooks and crannies, tracking down the hideous thing can be a pain. Thankfully, there are a few easy ways to find it if one uses the great stone arch as a way to keep track of where one is. This is historically appropriate as large manmade stone structures like these have been helping people find their way for centuries, if not millennia.

Finding The Cursed Symbol

the way to blow up the wall blocking the path to the cursed symbol.

Start from the stone arch and head south until one reaches the base of the rough hill. Nearby, there should be a few subtle lights, which indicate the path to an important site. Currently, the Cursed Symbol is blocked by some debris that needs to be clear out, otherwise one will never be able to reach the foul object and be rid of its obscuring mist as well as its creepy sounds.

These lights at the base of the hills south side lead to an opening where one can shoot an explosive object to clear the way. This opens up the path to the Cursed Symbol on the opposite side of the hill, so exit the short tunnel, but don't go too far, as there's an easy trick to getting to the target very close to the exit of the short tunnel.

Above the entrance, there is a stone pillar with a red streamer tied to the top of it. There are also more like it beyond this first marker, and they form a path to the darkening implement. Hop up the face of the rock and hike over the ridge while following the red streamer-sporting stones to find the entrance of the final path leading to the Cursed Symbol.

Destroying The Cursed Symbol

tunnel leading to the cursed symbol on the Tullagh Laght area.

After following the marker stones, Eivor will be led to the entrance of an area that was previously obstructed by a ton of rock and rubble. The player will know they are in the right place as the entrance is flanked by torches that pierce some of the surrounding darkness as well as an animal's skull upon a wooden post; the trademark sign of evil druidic magic.

Head into the tunnel and keep going until one reaches the end to find the pesky and petrifying Cursed Symbol. Like with previous ones, any manner of attack will destroy it, whether one assaults it with a cleaving strike from a Dane Axe or a deft shot from a Light Bow.

Once eliminated, the annoying fog and unnerving noises will fade away, and allow Eivor to breathe easier. Furthermore, they will be able to now see and hear the surroundings properly, which makes this a perfect time to scale the rocky heights and synchronize the Tullagh Laght Viewpoint.
