Like Assassin's Creed Odyssey before it, Assassin's Creed Valhalla encourages players to choose a playstyle that best fits them, whether that's staying back and firing a barrage of arrows, focusing on stealth and assassinating targets, or charging headlong into battle. Within Valhalla, there are tons of powerful weapons that complement these playstyles, but the Sepulcher Axe is one of the better options for open confrontation.

Acquiring the Sepulcher Axe is rather easy, but players will have to make it a decent way through the main story before it becomes available. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is composed of several chapters, and this powerful axe can only be obtained once the player reaches the third chapter.

Thankfully, it's not even off the beaten path that far, making it rather difficult to miss for players that know where to look. The first step to finding the Sepulcher Fire Axe is to start the Tilting the Balance quest and find King Burgred's Hideout. This can be done in the Offchurch area of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's map, near where the two rivers join.

After the player finds King Burgred's Hideout, they'll have to fight their way through several enemies. Eventually, they should come across King Burgred himself in his highness' quarters, where he can be tied up and captured. Before leaving this area to finish the quest, though, take note of the large golden chest to the left of the King. Opening this will reward the player with the Sepulcher Axe, one of the best weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so they can start bringing down fiery death on their foes.

The axe itself is particularly powerful thanks to its special effect. Whenever the player lands a critical hit with this weapon, the blade will ignite for five seconds, dealing bonus fire damage to enemies struck by it. After the flames run out, it can't be lit again for another ten seconds, but it's high base stats should make up for any down time like this. This weapon can also be used in conjunction with another weapon, and can even be dual wielded if the player has unlocked Eivor's Heavy Dual Wield ability from the skill tree.

The Sepulcher Axe is an example of an extremely powerful weapon that is very easy to obtain, but there are several other tools of destruction players can find on their journey as well. This weapon features a more confrontational playstyle, but players looking for stealth and ranged options in Assassin's Creed Valhalla can find similarly powerful weapons as well.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and will release on November 12th for PS5.
