Although Assassin’s Creed Valhalla puts a heavy weight on combat encounters, there are still plenty of puzzles throughout the game for players to solve. Some of these require the player to find certain keys or items while others involve interacting with specific objects in the world. One of these puzzles requires Assassin's Creed Valhalla players to approach the problem from a certain point of view.

One of the biggest puzzle types scattered across the map of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the Standing Stones puzzle. These are a collection of rocks that contain hidden symbols that need to be aligned perfectly. Much like the Fly Agaric mushroom challenges, these are located all over the map and each has a similar yet unique solution.

Where to Find

The Rodestan Monolith Standing Stone is located in Eurviscire, near the northwestern edge of the water. The Suggested Power level for this area is 190 and, although this challenge doesn’t require any fighting, it may be beneficial for the player to be around at least that level before making their way to the Standing Stones themselves. The Rodestan Monolith can be found to the South of the Scarborough Highpoint and to the West of Flaneburg Priory. Players will come across a collection of stones sticking out of the snow-covered ground on a small hill.

How to Solve

This puzzle requires Eivor to use Odin’s Sight and reveal symbols drawn on several of these stones. Eivor must walk around until the symbols align in a particular shape. Players can view this shape by reading a message scrawled on one of the rocks. This particular puzzle requires the player to destroy the ice blocking a small pit in the ground. Once the pit is clear, Eivor can walk into it and properly line up the symbols, thus completing this puzzle.

Reward

Like any of the Standing Stones puzzles, Eivor is awarded with experience points and one Skill Point to upgrade abilities. There are over a dozen of these puzzles, so players could level up their character quite quickly simply by traveling around and ticking each of these off their list. Combining this side mission with others, such as the Fly Agaric puzzles and Legendary Animal hunts—Eivor can be ready to take down some of the strongest enemies in no time.

These Standing Stones are only one of several side missions that players can occupy themselves with while taking a break from the main story. Aside from the other challenges, there are always Order of the Ancients members to hunt down and rare weapons to collect. With how large and full the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is, there is plenty out there for players to spend their time completing.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
