Assassin's Creed Valhalla is gearing up for the Halloween season with the return of the free Oskoreia Festival limited-time event for players to experience. The Oskoreia Festival event previously appeared in the game as seasonal content for players to enjoy for October last year, and now players will get the chance to enjoy the event again with a few new things this time around.

With Halloween not too far away, the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account made a post revealing that the Oskoreia Festival is returning today. The Oskoreia Festival event was inspired by the folkloric Wild Hunt figures, and the term "Oskoreia" is the Norwegian name for the ghostly hunters. In the first Oskoreia Festival for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the event had Eivor and Ravensthorpe being visited by the Wild Hunt who sought to hunt both men and beasts alike. As Eivor, players faced off against waves of new enemies and earned new items inspired by the festival and the Halloween season.

The Oskoreia Festival will allow players to experience a ghostly take on the Ravensthorpe settlement for the duration of the event. On top of that, there will be new challenges for players to face as well as new rewards for them to earn.

According to the official website, the Oskoreia Festival this time around will be available starting today, October 20, and will go until Thursday, November 10. Players will be able to face off against spectral enemies again, and there will be new activities, quests, and exclusive rewards that players can unlock in the game. The Oskoreia Festival event is also part of the 1.6.1 Update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that comes with numerous improvements and various bug fixes for the Halloween event have been addressed as part of the update.

The general reception to original post has been a mixed bag of reactions with plenty of fans showing excitement to the news, and fans who were less than enthusiastic about it. Plenty of fans were skeptical about the event, with several concerned about whether the event will experience glitches or crash like it did for them before. It's possible that the issues raised in the post's comments section were addressed in previous Valhalla updates. Players can experience the Oskoreia Festival for themselves to see what it has to offer this time around.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
