Though Assassin's Creed Valhalla players need to wait a while longer for Wrath of the Druids to arrive, the new Ostara Festival will help pass the time. Directly taken from the same celebration in Viking mythology, this free event offers plenty of seasonal rewards for Eivor to unlock. To earn these cosmetics, however, players must gather festival tokens during the next three weeks.

Thankfully, enough tokens can be collected by completing the various Ostara Festival quests. While several of these tasks such as drinking and archery are familiar to players from the previous Yule Festival, there are some new additions including a spring egg hunt. Most importantly, The May Queen quest gives one of the highest token amounts for completing this one-time quest.

Talk to Mayda

To start the quest, find Mayda located next to the wooden throne at the festival grounds. Mayda will complain that the current May Queen crown isn't suitable and wants one fit for a warrior instead. Eivor agrees to help and Mayda mentions there is a predator which has been killing wildlife in the forest. After regaining control, open the Assassin's Creed Valhalla map and fast travel to Venonis or another one of the nearby forest points.

Tracking the Beast

Upon arrival, Eivor will begin to track the beast and must find four clues to pinpoint its location. The first tip players stumble upon is a dead bear with Eivor noting it was killed in a unique manner with claws or talons. Turn around and inspect the nearby bloody rock which will lead to the predator. Follow the trail west until Eivor comes across a farmer's belongings on the ground. Continue straight ahead following the footprints until players spot the farmer standing on top of a huge boulder.

Slay the Beast

After speaking with the farmer, it turns out the beast is a rooster gone mad. Dispatch the fowl using Eivor's weapons like Excalibur while dodging its quick attacks. Once this threat has been dispatched, the farmer will explain his chicken went berserk after tasting blood and gladly offers to help make a crown at Eivor's request.

Return to Mayda

With the May Queen Crown in hand, fast travel back to Ravensthorpe using the map. Head to the center of town and Mayda should be sitting on the wooden throne. Once players get near her, a cutscene will play where Eivor gives Mayda the item and slightly exaggerates battling against the chicken-turned crown. For their efforts, players will get 800 XP and 140 festival tokens.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
