Players making their way through Assassin's Creed Valhalla will eventually find the need to begin the East Anglia arc of the game. This arc only opens up once players have fought off a small attack on Ravensthorpe during the short Uninvited Guests mission in the settlement.
East Anglia features a power recommendation of 55 and, in order to open up the Kingmaker quest, players must go to Randvi in the longhouse and pledge for this location. This is the beginning of the arc and, for those players looking to complete the Kingmaker quest, this guide is here to help.
How to Start the Kingmaker Quest and Where to Find Oswald?
After making the pledge for East Anglia, Eivor needs to head far to the east. The goal is to confront the Dane steward who currently resides in the longhouse in the city of Northwic. This place is centrally located within this part of England on what is effectively surrounded on all sides by rivers. Once players enter the longhouse, a cutscene will play. With this complete, players will be then asked to locate the main focus of this arc: Oswald.
Thegn Oswald will play an important part of this arc in Assassin's Creed Valhalla and can be found on the outskirts of Northwic. From the longhouse, players can head towards and through the north gate of the city towards an angry crowd just outside. Walking up to this crowd will introduce players to Oswald. This character will then ask the player to accompany him on his next journey. Following Oswald will bring players to a local farm that has been ravaged by clansmen of the Viking and rival to Oswald, Rued.
Stealth is likely the best option here as there are seven warriors scattered around this eradication area. Working from the east to the west, there is a guard investigating a dead body along the path. Close by and up the path is an archer who is facing another enemy underneath the roof of the shed structure. By the western entrance are a pair of other guards with the final pair located at the front door of the main structure. Eliminating all enemies here completes th quest, but there is a key in the pig pen that will open the main structure and a chest inside full of materials.
How to Complete the Kingmaker Quest?
Regrouping with Oswald begins the final portion of this quest in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Players must meet Oswald at the small town of Elmenham to the northwest but only at night. Arriving before this time will give players a chance to speak with Oswald and get some extra dialogue, but the mission cannot be started. Once night has fallen, players can walk up to the largest building in the town and the cutscene will begin.
The conversation doesn't go well and players will be dropped into a weaponless fight against Broder and Brothir (the potential brothers-in-law for Oswald). This fight is all about avoiding the one unblockable attack these brothers have and countering all other moves. The red symbol and these brothers moving their arms is the indicator to dodge rather than counter. Winning this fight will bring about the end of the Kingmaker Quest.
