With the decision made, and the traitor executed in The Stench of Treachery in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, players can take on the quest An Island of Eels. This is the final part of the Grantebridgescire arc and, as long as players have made the right decisions, contains a hunt through a monastery for Wigmund.
In the aftermath of killing of Galinn, the traitor of Grantebridge, Soma has just the Order of Ancients member, Wigmund, standing between her and the success of her village. For those players looking to complete An Island of Eels, this guide is here to help.
Where to Start An Island of Eels?
As long as Galinn was correctly executed, this quest can be started from a small, open area to the north of the Isle of Ely Monastery in the northwest of the Grantebridgescire region. Soma is speaking with her clan in preparation for the upcoming assault on the monastery and players can begin this mission by interacting with her. The goal is to locate Soma's rival in this region of England, Wigmund.
How to Infiltrate the Isle of Ely Monastery?
From her camp, players need to lead Soma to the southeast towards the monastery, one of the raiding possibilities in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. While there are a few different approaches to getting to Wigmund, in order to avoid conflict, players should aim for the hidden back entrance.
There is a beaten path that helps point to the cave at the rear of this monastery. Just inside, there are a few different iron deposits and a wooden, locked door. This can be destroyed by an arrow or the swing of a weapon and give players access to a stairway.
At the top there is another barred door that requires the same treatment; there is an enemy on the other side. Players can rush right in after destroying the door and get a quick, quiet kill if they are fast enough.
With that room cleared, players can pick up the Book of Knowledge here which gives them a new ability. Up the next set of stairs will be another guard and an unbarred door. This puts players at the uppermost level of the Isle of Ely Monastery and on a walkway that leads directly to the locked door of the church in which Wigmund has retreated.
If Assassin's Creed Valhalla players are quick enough, they can jump and roll their way right to Wigmund and complete the assassination. After the cutscene, players are left with the option to start a raid of this monastery or escape and return to the camp where the mission began. Either way, once returned to camp, players can open up dialogue with Soma to begin the final cutscene.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
